Vancouver and Lower Mainland Flower Festivals and Garden Events

Vancouver Flower Festivals

Flower festivals take place in the Vancouver region including ones on farms and gardens showcasing tulips, cherry blossoms, sunflowers, lavender and more.

Famous festivals in the Lower Mainland include the Harrison Tulip Festival, Abbotsford Tulip Festival, and Sweet Spring at Greendale Acres. Also in the Fraser Valley and new for 2026, there is the Magic of Spring at Taves Family Farms. Maan Farms has a tulip garden too. The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival happens in spring as well, as does the All British Field Meet at VanDusen Garden. The latter of these is a car show, not a flower festival. The ABFM, however, happens at a beautiful botanical garden.

VanDusen Garden also hosts Harvest Days and the Festival of Lights later in the year. They aren’t flower festivals either, but they do feature beautiful seasonal decorations.

Fraser Valley Flower Festivals

Flower festivals in the Fraser Valley include some of the largest tulip displays in Western Canada along with other family-friendly spring celebrations. One of the most famous is the Abbotsford Tulip Festival at Lakeland Flowers. It features more than 35 acres of tulips and wildflowers planted across colourful fields. After the tulip season finishes, the farm is full of other flowers for people to see from early May until the beginning of July.

Another popular attraction is the Harrison Tulip Festival which showcases millions of tulips planted in spectacular patterns across farmland near Harrison Hot Springs.

Several family farms also host their own spring flower events. Magic of Spring at Taves Family Farms in Abbotsford features the Magical Tulip Garden along with farm attractions. Sweet Spring at Greendale Acres in Chilliwack offers another family-friendly experience with spring flowers, farm animals and seasonal activities designed for visitors of all ages.

The Abbotsford Tulip Trail is an initiative that promotes both the Abbotsford Tulip Festival and Magic of Spring at Taves Family Farms. It promotes Maan Farms and its Easter activities in the spring too.

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival Events

The arrival of cherry blossom season is celebrated with the Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival. The city’s streets and parks fill with blooming cherry trees each spring creating beautiful displays throughout the city.

Two of the most popular festival events include the Big Picnic and the Sakura Days Japan Fair. The Big Picnic invites thousands of people to gather under blooming cherry trees for a large outdoor picnic celebration with live entertainment and family-friendly activities at David Lam Park. The Sakura Days Japan Fair, meanwhile, highlights Japanese culture with traditional performances, food vendors, tea ceremonies and cultural demonstrations at VanDusen Garden.

VanDusen Garden Festivals

VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver also hosts several other festivals throughout the year. One of the most popular spring events is the All British Field Meet. It’s one of the largest British car shows in North America. During the event, hundreds of classic British vehicles are displayed throughout the garden grounds, creating a combination of automotive history and garden scenery. Later in the year, VanDusen Garden hosts Harvest Days, a seasonal celebration that highlights autumn activities, garden displays and family-friendly programming. The garden is also known for the Festival of Lights during the winter holiday season when thousands of lights transform the gardens into an illuminated attraction.
