Harvest Days at VanDusen Garden

Harvest Days is an autumn-themed event in October at VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver. The event also has a bit of a Halloween theme.

Harvest Days at VanDusen Garden

Harvest Days is a seasonal event at VanDusen Botanical Garden. Located at 5251 Oak Street in Vancouver, the famous garden has special autumnal and harvest-themed decorations and family-friendly activities in the fall.

At the event there are fun arts and crafts activities for kids to enjoy. The attraction’s maze has a scarecrow theme and the veggie garden is also decorated, making for wonderful photo opportunities. Although not specifically a “Halloween” event, you can expect to see lots of pumpkins around the attraction. Harvest Days also offers a variety of food vendors on-site selling things like grilled cheese sandwiches, coffee, popcorn and more.

Another big component of Harvest Days is the live music. Last year, guests were treated to Bluegrass and old-time songs. Performers included Lonesome Town Painters, No Frills Stringband and The Soda Crackers. Other groups included Hartman Brothers & Friends, Mike Gix & Friends, OMC, Burnaby Mountain Boys, The Contingency and M. Burnyeat.

VanDusen Garden used to host a Glow in the Garden Halloween event. However, it hasn’t happened since before the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, Harvest Days is kind of its successor. Event Dates and Hours

Harvest Days took place on the Saturdays and Sundays of October 7th & 8th, 14th & 15th, 21st & 22nd, and 28th & 29th last year. It was open on Thanksgiving Day as well, so on Monday, October 9th. Harvest Days also ran on Friday, October 20th, which was a Pro-D Day for school students.

Daily hours for the special Harvest Days activities are typically from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, although the rest of VanDusen is open for viewing until 5:00 pm. The live music sessions run from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, 11:45 am to 1:45 pm, and from 2:00 pm to 3:45 pm.

Admission Details

Tickets for Harvest Days are available online and include all-day admission to VanDusen Garden. However, all guests must arrive within the one-hour timeslot they select. Ticket prices (including online service fees) for 2023 are listed below. We expect prices to be comparable for Harvest Days in 2024.

Adults (ages 19 to 64) – $13.78
Seniors (65+) and Youth (13 to 18) – $9.60
Children (ages 5 to 12) – $6.89
Preschoolers (ages 4 and under) – Free

Little kids ages 4 and under enter Harvest Days for free, as do VanDusen Garden Members. All tickets are non-refundable.
