The Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo features market vendors, special guests, panel discussions, tournaments and more at the Anvil Centre in New Westminster.
In 2025 the event takes place on June 14th (which is the Saturday just before Father’s Day). Other events taking place elsewhere in the region that same weekend are Langley Community Day and the Old Town New Queens Pride-themed event at Britannia Mine. There are also free National Indigenous Heritage Month events at Fort Langley and the Gulf of Georgia Cannery.

Retro Gaming Expo in New Westminster
The Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo is a one-day event for fans of classic games, unique collectibles and retro gaming culture. Gamers, collectors and creators from across the Lower Mainland can enjoy a full day of entertainment, shopping and community fun. The event has been around for about 10 years.
The Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo features vendor and artist booths, free-to-play retro gaming stations, indie game demos, retro computer showcases, live music, retro game tournaments and panel discussions. The event is fairly affordable and community-focused with a wide variety of experiences for both casual and serious gamers.
Where and When
In 2025 the Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo takes place on Saturday, June 14th. It runs from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Anvil Centre. The venue’s address is 777 Columbia Street in New Westminster.
What to Expect
At the event visitors can explore the Vendor Hall and Artist Alley on the main floor. The area features shops, flea market sellers and collectors offering old and new games. Artists showcase their work with video game-themed art, crafts and collectibles.
On the third floor of the theatre, there are gaming stations with retro consoles, plus even more gaming from indie developers like Bitcouver and Phantom Series. There are also live performances in the third-floor theatre throughout the day. The Chilliwack Retro-Computing Club hosts a huge display of retro computers and gaming panel discussions on the fourth floor. Retro game tournaments take place on the fourth floor throughout the day too, giving players a chance to compete and show off their skills on classic games.
Attendees can expect a full day of retro video games, classic computer displays, music, tournaments and vendor shopping all under one roof.
2025 Schedule
From 12:00 to 6:00 pm in the third floor’s main theatre, attendees can enjoy live musical performances, cosplay and comedy shows. Performer highlights include Shane Steward, ROM-hack, Glitch Kibbitz, The Fictionals, Ro Panuganti Prog XP and many more surprises.
Panels take place on the fourth floor from 11:30 am to 6:00 pm with a mix of keynote speakers, industry guests, trivia and themed discussions. Highlights include sessions with John Hancock, Happy Console Gamer, Victor Lucas and J.J. McCullough, plus unique panels like the Video Game Music Challenge and Retro Gaming Eats.
Tournaments run all day on the fourth floor from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm with classic games like Mario Kart 64, Killer Instinct, Super Smash Bros Melee and Tetris. Players of all ages can join single-elimination brackets and compete against other attendees.
