The Coquitlam Food Truck Festival is an annual event that features a couple of dozen food vendors and an artisan market at Town Centre Park.
It’s one of many similar events put on by the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival each year. This year the event takes the form of a “Community Block Party” on the weekend of May 13th and 14th (which is the Mother’s Day Weekend).

Food Truck Festival at Town Centre Park
The Coquitlam Food Truck Festival is a great event at a beautiful venue. There is live music and a wide selection of food to choose from. At the park there is also a fabulous kids’ play area and a beautiful walking trail around Lafarge Lake.
When and Where
In 2023 the Coquitlam Food Truck Festival is part of the Community Block Party Series. It takes place on the weekend of May 13th and 14th. On the Saturday, it runs from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. Hours on the Sunday are from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm.
The event happens at Coquitlam‘s Town Centre Park which is located at 1299 Pinetree Way. The trucks usually set up in the parking lot just off Trevor Wingrove Way which is between Lafarge Lake and Percy Perry Stadium.
OTHER FOOD TRUCK EVENTS
Similar food truck events in 2023 happen at the following places:
- Burnaby – April 22nd and 23rd
- Chilliwack – on April 29th and 30th
- Surrey – on June 3rd and 4th
- Langley – on June 10th (as part of Langley Community Day)
- Mission – June 24th and 25th
In addition to the above, there is also the Feast-of-Ales event at the Albion Fairgrounds in Maple Ridge on the weekend of June 16th to 18th. Chilliwack Ribfest, meanwhile, happens on July 28th to 30th.
What to Expect
At the Coquitlam Block Party you can expect to see twenty or more food truck vendors, several artisan vendors, a beer garden, and a musician or band playing live music. On a sunny day you can also expect to see several hundred people, all munching on various tasty treats.
In 2023, some of the food truck vendors include Shameless Buns, Fusion Icy, Reel Mac and Cheese and It’s All About Grill. Other favourites include G’s Donairs, Kyu Grill and The Brownie Bakers.
Artisan vendors at the event typically sell everything from jewellery to handmade chocolates, soaps, cookies and other fancy items.
Tips and Advice
Below are some suggestions to help you make the most out of your visit to the Coquitlam Food Truck Festival.
TIP #1: Take public transit if you can. The Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain Station is just a short walk away.
TIP #2: Town Centre Park is a beautiful park with a wide range of amenities. If you have young children don’t forget to spend time at the playground and water park. Lafarge Lake is also a wonderful spot to walk around.
