Terror at Tanglebank Haunted Forest Halloween Attraction in Abbotsford

Terror at Tanglebank

Terror at Tanglebank is a new Halloween attraction in the Vancouver region. It’s a haunted forest in Abbotsford with both family-friendly and scary activities.

The attraction is like a Haunted House, except that it’s outdoors. Guests follow a trail through the trees. Along the way they encounter lots of creepy characters and spooky scenes.

Terror at Tanglebank Haunted Experience

Tanglebank Estate is a large property in the Fraser Valley featuring a bistro, apothecary and garden centre. The place hosts special events from time to time, including over the fall of 2024. Terror at Tanglebank is a new event happening on select dates between September 20th and October 30th.

During the Halloween season the estate’s forest transforms into a spooky attraction for all ages. During the event, trails through the woods are open to explore. The forest is similar to a labyrinth, but with paths surrounded by trees instead of corn. The route is also just one-directional, so there is no risk of getting lost along the way.

Before it gets dark each night, families with younger kids can go for a walk in the spooky setting. Then, the full Terror at Tanglebank experience takes place after the sun sets. The forest becomes dark and full of scary sights and sounds. There are also live actors waiting to scare guests.

In addition to the forest trails, there are Halloween-themed goods available to purchase in the gift shop. Expect to find everything from masks and decorations to an assortment of locally grown pumpkins. There are also tables to sit at, both indoors and outside, where you can enjoy refreshments from the restaurant.

Terror at Tanglebank Video

For an idea of what to expect at Terror at Tanglebank, check out the video below. It shows scenes of the experience from when we visited. As you’ll see, the Halloween attraction features lots of actors, which is great. Interestingly, they didn’t make a lot of sounds, at least not the ones near the start when we went. It sort of made it extra spooky, on the one hand, but also nice for people who are on the timid side and don’t like scary sounds. Towards the end of the forested trail the characters started talking more, and grunting and screaming. We aren’t sure if that will always be the case, but it was when we went.

As you’ll see in this video, Terror at Tanglebank is pretty good. It’s definitely a cool haunted forest experience, and fun for both people who like scary things, but also for folks who don’t enjoy being too overly frightened.
