Terror at Tanglebank is a new Halloween attraction in the Vancouver region. It’s a haunted forest in Abbotsford with both family-friendly and scary activities.
The attraction is like a Haunted House, except that it’s outdoors. Guests follow a trail through the trees. Along the way they encounter lots of creepy characters and spooky scenes.
TOP FRASER VALLEY HALLOWEEN ATTRACTIONS
Terror at Tanglebank is a great new Halloween attraction. It’s scarier than some, but not as scary as others (which makes it good for people who like things in the middle).
Some of the best kid-friendly Halloween attractions in the Fraser Valley are Fall at the Farm at Maan Farms and Taves Family Farms Applebarn in Abbotsford. In Chilliwack there is also Petey’s Pumpkin Patch and the Chilliwack Corn Maze. These are awesome places to take young children to.
If you’re looking for something much more on the scary side, then we highly recommend Reapers Maze of Terror in Chilliwack and Maan Farms Haunted Mazes in Abbotsford. They are both incredible! In Langley there is also Brinkworth Dungeon and Fort Langley’s Grave Tales walking tours. Not too far away, but outside the Fraser Valley, there are also Cougar Creek’s House of Horrors and Dreadworks Haunted House in Surrey which are also both amazing.

Terror at Tanglebank Haunted Experience
Tanglebank Estate is a large property in the Fraser Valley featuring a bistro, apothecary and garden centre. The place hosts special events from time to time, including over the fall. Terror at Tanglebank debuted in 2024 and ran on select dates between September 20th and October 30th. The haunted attraction will likekly run again this year. Exact details are to be confirmed.
During the Halloween season the estate’s forest transforms into a spooky attraction for all ages. Trails through the woods are open to explore during Halloween. The forest is similar to a labyrinth, but with paths surrounded by trees instead of corn. The route is also just one-directional, so there is no risk of getting lost along the way.
Before it gets dark each night, families with younger kids can go for a walk in the spooky setting. Then, the full Terror at Tanglebank experience takes place after sunset. The forest becomes dark and full of scary sights and sounds. There are also live actors waiting to scare guests.
In addition to the forest trails, there are Halloween-themed goods available to purchase in the gift shop. Expect to find everything from masks and decorations to an assortment of locally grown pumpkins. There are also tables to sit at, both indoors and outside, where you can enjoy refreshments from the restaurant.
Event Location
You can find the Tanglebank Estate at 29985 Downes Road. It’s in the northwest region of Abbotsford. The venue is about a 60-minute drive from Vancouver in good traffic. It’s just off Exit 83 from the Trans Canada Highway.

Terror at Tanglebank Video
Check out the video below for an idea of what to expect at Terror at Tanglebank. The video shows scenes of the experience from when we visited. The Halloween attraction features lots of actors, which is great. Interestingly, they didn’t make a lot of sounds, at least not the ones near the start when we went. It made it extra spooky, on the one hand, but also nice for people who are on the timid side and don’t like scary sounds. Towards the end of the forested trail the characters started talking more, and grunting and screaming. We aren’t sure if that will always be the case, but it was when we went.
Terror at Tanglebank is pretty good. It’s definitely a cool haunted forest experience, and fun for people who like scary things and those who don’t enjoy being too overly frightened.
