Chilliwack Mural Festival

The Chilliwack Mural Festival is a celebration of street art in the summer. It features live music, market vendors, food trucks and more in downtown Chilliwack.

Presented by the Chilliwack Arts Council, the festival ran from August 7th to 17th in 2025. The street party took place on August 15th and 16th. Next year’s festival takes place from August 14th to 16th.

Other events in the Fraser Valley that happen around this time of year are the Chilliwack Corn Maze, Ribfest Langley and Symphony in the Park in Abbotsford (the second two of which have admission by donation). Earlier in the summer, on July 25th to 27th, there was also Chilliwack Ribfest at Vedder Park.

The Chilliwack Mural Festival

The Chilliwack Mural Festival is a fun showcase of street art that takes place in August. So expect to see murals made by a diverse group of artists from both the Lower Mainland and around the world.

The festival is an opportunity to watch murals being painted live and to check out already existing murals in the Chilliwack community. Guided tours can be booked for large groups, and a map with mural locations is available online.

The multi-day festival also has other family-friendly events. There is a street party and plenty of live entertainment.

Event Schedule

The main Chilliwack Mural Festival street party took place on the Friday and Saturday of August 15th and 16th in 2025. On the first day, the festivities ran from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Hours on the second day were from noon until 9:00 pm. Everything took place on Mill Street and District 1881.

This past year, in addition to the street party, there were various tours and workshops to attend. 2025 dates and details are below, although exact details were subject to change.

Thursday, August 7th, 2025

The first day of the Chilliwack Mural Festival featured the Alley Kick-Off Celebration. It ran from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. As of mid-June, the event’s location was to be confirmed.

Saturday, August 9th, 2025

On the first Saturday of the festival there was a concert and a set of tours to check out. Chilliwack Tours hosted a couple of one-hour tours at 11:00 am and 7:00 pm. They took place in the downtown area of the city. Then, from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, there was a Love Alley Concert behind the Book Man. Performers included GORD and scarlet fever.

Sunday, August 10th, 2025

There was an Indigenous Artist Talk & Tour in downtown. It took place from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. Featured artists and location details were to be confirmed.

Tuesday, August 12th, 2025

Chilliwack Tours offered two different tours on August 12th. The first took place in District 1881 from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm. Aother tour ran from 7:00 pm to 7:45 pm on Mill Street.

Wednesday, August 13th, 2025

A variety of local and international artists hosted an Artist Talk session from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. The event took place at Love Alley behind the Book Man.

Thursday, August 14th, 2025

Tours on August 14th ran between 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm. The day also featured a Graffiti Wall Workshop on Mill Street. It took place from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

Sunday, August 17th, 2025

The final day of the Chilliwack Mural Festival included two different tours. The one on Mill Street ran from 11:00 am to 11:45 am, whereas the one in District 1881 ran from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm.

Street Party Event

The Chilliwack Mural Festival street party happened on August 15th and 16th in 2025. Admission is typically free and there are activities for all ages. The event includes live art demonstrations, a community mural, arts and crafts, market vendors, food trucks and more.
