Sweet Spring at Greendale Acres

Sweet Spring is a family-friendly flower festival with baby animals, flower gardens, and fun activities for children at Greendale Acres Farm in Chilliwack.

In 2025 Sweet Spring ran from March 27th until May 11th. Those dates included both the Easter Long Weekend and the Mother’s Day Weekend. The dates in 2026 will likely be similar.

Note: Even though the tulips finished for the season, the farm and its kid-friendly activities were open on May 10th and May 11th. The place is closed for a few months after that before opening back up again in the summer, likely sometime in August.

Sweet Spring at Greendale Acres

Greendale Acres is a farm in the Fraser Valley. It’s located at 41905 Yale Road West in Chilliwack. The farm hosts various events throughout the year. For example, there’s the Chilliwack Plowing Match in early April, Easter-themed celebrations on the Easter Long Weekend, and also Sweet Spring from April to May, and the Chilliwack Corn Maze from August until October.

The Sweet Spring Flower Festival is a wonderful event for all ages. There are colourful flower beds with more than 50,000 tulips and other flowers to check out. What’s more, the place is full of fun activities for children.

While the flower gardens at the Sweet Spring event aren’t as big as the fields of tulips at other festivals in the Fraser Valley, the flowers at Greendale Acres are planted in unique patterns. There are also many more things to do at the farm, especially for kids. In fact, if you have young children or grandchildren, Sweet Spring is arguably the best flower festival in BC. Other flower festivals might have millions more flowers. Sweet Spring, however, because of all the fun play structures and games, will probably be your children’s favourite!

During Sweet Spring visitors get to interact with farm animals, including a baby lamb named Lily. There’s also a hay bale maze and a big jumping pillow, along with a pedal cart track and various play structures for children.

(There are farm animals on-site for people to see for free every day all day. Lily, however, is a special little lamb. You can meet and greet with her one-on-one, but only on weekends.)

Where and When is Sweet Spring?

The Sweet Spring Flower Festival takes place at Greendale Acres Farm at 41905 Yale Road West in Chilliwack. It’s near the Chilliwack Golf Course, not far from the Botanica Tulip Festival. Take Exit #109 onto Yale Road to get to Greendale Acres via the Trans-Canada Highway.

Last season’s Sweet Spring opened on Thursday, March 27th. Its last day of the season was Sunday, May 11th. Between those dates the farm was open from Thursday to Sunday each week.

Hours of operation for Sweet Spring this year were the following:

Thursdays and Fridays – from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
Saturdays and Sundays – from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

Sweet Spring also had special hours on Friday, April 25th (which was a school Pro-D Day). On that date the farm was open from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. There was also a Grandparents Day event that day. See below for more details about this event and a couple of other ones.

Special Events Schedule

On select dates of Sweet Spring there are some special events to enjoy. The schedule of event days for 2025 is listed below. 2026 will likely be comparable.

Friday, April 25th was a professional development day for students in local schools and also Grandparents Day at Greendale Acres. Grandparents of all ages got free admission at the farm that day.

Then, on Saturday, April 26th it was Princess Day where between 10:30 am and 12:00 pm, Elsa from Frozen was on-site in costume. Then, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm, there was also Spider-Gwen roaming around. Both princesses sang songs and shared stories. They were also available for photo opportunities with guests.

Saturday, May 3rd was Teddy Bear Picnic day. People who brought their teddy bears and participated in the picnic got free train rides. Everyone was welcome to bring their own food or buy picnic packs at the event. Other activities during the day included storytelling at 11:00 am, face painting at 11:30 am, and yoga at 2:00 pm.

Another special event during Sweet Spring in 2025 was Spring Wellness. It happened on the Saturday, May 10th and featured a public exercise class called THE SHIFT. The event happened from 10:00 am to noon and afterwards participants were welcome to stay at and enjoy the farm for the afternoon.

Also on the Mother’s Day Weekend of May 10th and 11th the farm had a couple of final special events. The Saturday was the Tulip Dig where you could dig up a few tulip bulbs to take home with you for your own garden (for flowers for next year). On the Sunday, on Mother’s Day, there was a free pancake breakfast, moms got free admission, and you could dig up more tulips to keep.

Admission Details

Tickets for Sweet Spring are available online. They typically cost $15 on weekends and $12 on weekdays for people between the ages of 3 and 74 years old. Toddlers under the age of 3 and seniors ages 75 and above get in for free. Admission includes access to all activities at the farm, including those only available on days with special events.

Once purchased, tickets are non-refundable. If needed, however, you can exchange them for tickets for another date.
