The Khatsahlano Street Party is a giant music and arts festival that takes place on West 4th Avenue in Vancouver’s Kitsilano district in July.
In 2025 the event happened on July 5th (so on the weekend after Canada Day). That was the same weekend as the Taiwanese Canadian Cultural Festival which features live music and other free activities outside the Vancouver Art Gallery. There was also the Canada Day Weekend Boat Party which is a nightclub-style event in the waters around Vancouver and English Bay. That too is a ton of fun. On the following weekend there was the Carnaval del Sol Latin festival in Vancouver and Harrison Festival of the Arts in the Fraser Valley. Both of those are also highly recommended.
See Vancouver’s July Calendar of Events to learn about what else is happening in the Lower Mainland around the same time. Continue reading for details about the Khatsahlano Street Party.

Khatsahlano Street Party in Kitsilano
The street party features free concerts starring BC-based bands, artisan products for sale and many people attending. There are usually market stalls, food vendors, family-friendly activities and beer gardens for adults.
As many as 200,000 people attend the Khatsahlano Street Party in years with good weather, which makes it one of the largest annual events in the region.
Where and When
In 2025 the street party happened on Saturday, July 5th. It starts at 11:00 am and the fun continues until around 9:00 pm. This past year’s festivities took place along West 4th Avenue, between Burrard Street and Macdonald Street.
TIP #1: With tens of thousands of people attending, parking in the area can be a serious challenge. Take public transit if you can and avoid the immediate vicinity with your car.
TIP #2: There is usually a bicycle valet service on site and, being just a few blocks from the water and the Burrard Street Bridge, walking and cycling access via the False Creek Seawall is fairly convenient. You can access the free bike valet on Cypress and West 4th or on Larch and West 5th.
What to Expect at Khatsahlano
The Khatsahlano Street Party features multiple stages with over 50 local performing artists as well as market vendors, street performers, food trucks and an artisan market. Essentially it’s a massive street party, much like Car Free Day events or Greek Day on Broadway, which are at other times in the summer. Khatsahlano has more and larger concerts, however.
At the day-long Khatsahlano event there are also normally yoga sessions, an urban obstacle course, a tea garden, arts and crafts stations, selfie booths, beer gardens, pie eating contests and more.
Concert Schedule
Live music takes place on a number of stages over the course of the day. In 2025, the lineup was curated by Zulu Records. Headliners included Meltt and Missy D.
