Family Day Weekend at Cypress

In 2025 Family Day is on Monday, February 17th. All sorts of family-friendly activities take place throughout the weekend across the Lower Mainland during this public holiday.

Over the Family Day long weekend, some (but not all) ski hills in the region usually offer some kind of special deal, including free or discounted ski and other snow sport passes.

Cypress Mountain has sometimes offered ticket discounts on the Family Day long weekend for children in the past, but at the time of writing this, it isn’t clear if the resort is doing that in 2025.

In previous years, Cypress Mountain offered an assortment of special family-friendly activities as well as discounted passes for children on the Family Day long weekend. Skiing, snowshoeing and tubing tickets at Cypress were 50% off for children on the Friday evening and all day on the Saturday, Sunday and holiday Monday of the February long weekend.

Unfortunately, things aren’t quite the same these days. There are still some special activities that take place over the long weekend, including a fireworks show on the Sunday night, but there aren’t the same level of discounts available.

Family Day Weekend Schedule

There aren’t a ton of specific details about the event schedule for the 2025 Family Day long weekend at Cypress Mountain.

One major thing that’s happening on Sunday, February 16th, is the fireworks display at the patio up at the top of the mountain. The fireworks blast off at 7:00 pm.

From 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on all three days of the long weekend you can enjoy activities like face painting and balloon animal making.

In recent years there have been other notable things happening on the mountain. For example, in 2024 the Tube Park had a special theme on the Saturday and Monday. There were also a series of local music artists performing over the course of the three days. Whether or not that’s the case again in 2025 is unknown as of the last time we checked.
