Jam Over the City is a special skiing and snowboarding event held in Vancouver at Grouse Mountain’s terrain park on a Saturday or two each winter.
The event took place on January 28th in 2023. The 2024 event was supposed to be on January 27th, but it was cancelled due to the weather.
Jam Over the City
Popular with younger adults and snowboarders, Jam Over the City happens at Side Cut Park on Grouse Mountain. The ski run is where you’ll see skilled skiers and snowboarders doing impressive freestyle tricks. Side Cut Park is an intermediate to expert level terrain park with features that can be combined in plenty of different ways.
During the Jam Over the City event, there is usually DJ music, amazing snowboarding tricks, prizes, awards and lots of fun. Participation is normally free with a season’s pass or regular day’s ski ticket.
2023 Event
In years before the COVID-19 pandemic, there were often two Jam Over the City events per ski season. However, not as many have taken place in recent years because of COVID-19. To our knowledge, there weren’t any Jam Over the City events in 2020, and in 2021 there was a virtual event instead.
Fortunately, Jam Over the City returned in its usual format in 2023. That year, the event took place in-person on Saturday, January 28th. It ran from 3:00 until 6:00 pm at Side Cut Park.
As usual, Jam Over the City includes prizes to give away and awards to be won. In 2023, the location boasts 20 new features with 15 lap-able ones. There’s also the new handle tow lift, which is an efficient way for everyone to get even more laps in than before.
