Located in the southern end of Langley Township around 50 minutes from downtown Vancouver, Chaberton Estate Winery is the Fraser Valley‘s oldest winery.
The place is also home to its own on-site restaurant called Bacchus Bistro.
Langley’s Chaberton Estate Winery
Opened in 1991, Chaberton Estate Winery in Langley produces a variety of local wine. All wine created there is 100% BC VQA and made from grapes sourced from wine regions within BC. Grapes in Chaberton Estate wines come from either the Fraser Valley, Okanagan-Similkameen or the Okanagan Valley (or a combination of the three).
Folk can choose from a selection of red, white, rosé and dessert wines. In total there are around 30 wine offerings. Prices range from $14.95 for a bottle of house blend Chaberton White, up to $69.95 for a bottle of 2019 AC Okanagan Valley.
The place offers public wine tours from April to October. The guided tours go behind-the-scenes in the winery, vineyard and barrel room, and can include tastings of select wines. They take place at 1:00 pm daily, weather permitting.
There is also the Tasting Room which is open year-round. It can be experienced either as walk-ins or with reservations. Walk-in tastings cost $10 per person and include samples of four different wines. Private tastings cost $15 each and include a staff member who goes over each wine in depth while they pour it.
