Formerly called Brentwood Town Centre, The Amazing Brentwood is a shopping mall and residential development with stores, restaurants and condos in Burnaby.
TIP: Go to the mall on a Sunday between June and September. On those days, from 10:00 am and 2:00 pm, you’ll find the Brentwood Artisan Farmers Market.
Burnaby’s The Amazing Brentwood Mall
Located in the Brentwood district of North Burnaby, today the Amazing Brentwood is a modern 28-acre urban neighbourhood that’s more than just a shopping centre. Redevelopments began in 2014 with intentions of creating a hub for shopping, dining and entertainment, plus over 6,000 homes (largely in the form of skyscrapers). The development has been opening in phases with more and more stores, condos, restaurants and office space opening slowly over time.
Stores at the Amazing Brentwood
The Amazing Brentwood is home to over 100 stores. While it’s not as big of a mall as places like Metrotown, Guildford Town Centre, Park Royal and Tsawwassen Mills, Brentwood’s collection of stores is still quite impressive. Some of the larger stores in Brentwood include Adidas, Nike, H&M and London Drugs.
There are more than 30 dining options to choose from at the new mall. For a quick bite, there’s Starbucks and a few other similar coffee shops. The food court area on the mall’s second floor features Yugo, Chatime, Japadog, Thaigo and more.
The Amazing Brentwood also has a Tap & Barrel restaurant as well as The Rec Room (which is a large place for fun games, food and entertainment for adults). Cineplex VIP Cinemas is similarly only open to those ages 19 and above.
Mall Location and Hours
Throughout most of the year, Brentwood is open from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm Mondays to Wednesdays and from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday hours are usually from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Hours are also reduced on holidays. (Note: Exact hours are subject to change and can vary by season.)
The Amazing Brentwood is located at 4567 Lougheed Highway in Burnaby.
The mall is close to some of the city’s top attractions. Open seasonally, Burnaby Village Museum is less than 15 minutes away from the mall by car. Admission to the museum is usually free, except for during special events. For those interested in exploring nature, Central Park, Barnet Marine Park, Burnaby Lake and Burnaby Mountain are also all within about a 15-minute drive away.
If using public transportation, take the Millennium Line SkyTrain to Brentwood Town Centre Station.
There are over 2,000 parking stalls at the mall, spread over a few different parking lots. Finding a spot to park is fairly easy since there are digital displays that indicate numbers of vacant stalls.
With the parking, it’s paid parking in the parkade. It also costs about $2 an hour on the street on the grounds of the shopping centre the last time we checked. Parking is free for the first three hours, however, in the parking lot that’s just off Beta Avenue (or at least that was the case as of the summer of 2024). To get the free three hours of parking you have to register your vehicle, but you don’t have to pay.
