Coquitlam Christmas Night Market

The Coquitlam Christmas Night Market is a winter holiday artisan market at the Evergreen Cultural Centre by the Lights at LaFarge event in Town Centre Park.

With close to 50 vendors, it’s a great event! In 2023 the market happened on December 1st and 2nd. First day of the season for Lights at LaFarge, meanwhile, was November 24th.

For the night market’s official Facebook page, click Coquitlam Christmas Night Market. (Note: This Facebook page is where all the vendors are highlighted so you can check out which vendors will be participating in 2024.)

Christmas Night Market at Lights at LaFarge

Lights at LaFarge is one of Metro Vancouver’s best Christmas lights attractions. It’s free to attend and features beautiful Christmas illuminations around the landmark lake. The attraction runs from late November until around mid-January each year.

The Coquitlam Christmas Night Market is an artisan craft fair that took place for the first time during Lights at LaFarge on the last Sunday before Christmas in 2019. It’s a good-sized craft fair, and in 2023, it was expected around 50 or so vendors would be participating. It’s a really nice market (both for the quality of the participating vendors and for the location).

If you plan to visit Lights at LaFarge, which you should, a great day to do so is when the Coquitlam Christmas Night Market takes place (especially if you haven’t yet finished your Christmas shopping).

Where, When & How Much is the Night Market

The Coquitlam Christmas Night Market takes place indoors at the Evergreen Cultural Centre. The venue is at 1205 Pinetree Way in the southwest corner of Coquitlam‘s Town Centre Park. It’s right by both LaFarge Lake and the LaFarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain Station.

Last year, the market ran on Friday, December 1st, and Saturday, December 2nd. Hours were from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the Friday and from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm on the Saturday. General admission typically costs $2. Kids ages 16 and under enter for free.

About the Night Market

The Coquitlam Christmas Night Market is a fairly typical, high-quality, holiday craft fair, except that it’s at night and there is an amazing free winter holiday light attraction right outside. The market itself features really nice products. If you like craft fairs and Christmas lights, you’ll love this event.

Artisan products at the market typically include jewellery, toys, apparel and accessories, health and beauty products, gourmet chocolates, and other handmade creations. Hot drinks are also available for sale.

The market is a perfect place to do last-minute holiday shopping. In addition, a walk around LaFarge Lake is a fine way to get into a festive spirit while doing light exercise at the same time. Checking out both the lights and the market on the same day is guaranteed to make you feel exceptionally Christmas-y!

The Coquitlam Christmas Night Market is a family-friendly event, and it’s wheelchair-accessible too (as is the Lights at LaFarge Christmas attraction). Both are highly recommended. Expect there to be lots of people!
