Langley‘s Krause Berry Farms is a working farm located just one hour from Vancouver. It features u-pick fields, a year-round market and an estate winery.
Krause Berry Farms
Krause Berry Farms and Estate Winery has been operating since 1974. The farm is family owned and operated. It is also a working farm where much of its produce is grown right on site.
Offerings at the farm include its award-winning wines, market products and waffle bar. The place also offers seasonal u-pick produce, plus special events during holidays such as Halloween and Christmas (or at least it does in years without pandemics).
Where and When
Krause Farms can be found at 6179 248th Street in Langley. The place is about a one-hour drive from downtown Vancouver and five minutes from the Greater Vancouver Zoo.
Opening hours for the venue are usually from 9:30 am until 5:00 pm Wednesdays through Sundays. The farm is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The site’s online store operates daily from 9:30 am until 5:00 pm and orders placed there can be picked up inside the farm’s market. The farm is closed March 29th to the 31st, 2023, for filming and re-opens on April 1st and 2nd, 2023. It is closed again for the Easter Long Weekend from April 7th to 11th, 2023.
If you like farms and fresh produce, another great place to check out is Maan Farms in Abbotsford. It’s located just half an hour from the Krause Farm. Similar to the Langley venue, Maan Farms has a small country store and u-pick berries. They also have an award-winning winery and impressive fall Pumpkin Patch, plus a petting zoo and extensive play structures for children.
Year-Round Activities
Krause Farms offers a number of products and activities throughout the year. These include its market and bakery, waffle bar and estate winery.
Market and Bakery
Krause Farms operates an extensive market and bakery. The place is stocked with fresh, seasonal produce as well as pies, preserves, pantry items, frozen produce and giftware, among other things.
In addition to its in-person market, Krause Farms also operates an online store. Online orders can be picked up at the farm at the designated “online order” area. Customers can select a pick-up time between working hours of 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.

Waffle Bar
One of the most unique things about Krause Farms is its waffle bar. They make the waffles fresh and serve them with seasonal toppings and the farm’s very own syrup or coco whip. The place also offers a vegan, gluten-friendly option for those with dietary restrictions.
A regular waffle with seasonal berries, berry syrup and whipped cream cost $13.50 the last time we checked. A vegan waffle with syrup and coco whip cost $14.50.
The waffle bar is open at the same time as the rest of the farm, so from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm every day of the week except for Mondays and Tuesdays. Krause Farms also operates a drive-in waffle field from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm on weekends during July and August.
Krause Estate Winery
The farm also operates an estate winery on its farm grounds. The winery offers a selection of berry wines that are made in-house. Krause Berry Farms and Estate Winery also sells picnic baskets to enjoy in the garden or to go.
The Krause Winery has won a selection of awards including the “Best Fruit Wine of 2017” in the All Canadian Wine Championships.
Wines range in price from $13 for a small bottle up to $26 for a large bottle (plus or minus). The place also offers specialty wines such as port and dessert wine, as well as gift boxes.

Seasonal Events
Krause Berry Farms is open year-round with a variety of seasonal activities. Its u-pick fields are stocked with seasonal produce. The farm also runs events around major holidays such as Halloween and Christmas.
Summer at Krause Farms
Summer is a great season to visit the farm. Many types of berries are ready to pick and the weather is usually very nice. U-pick options in summer include blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and strawberries.
The Fresh Fun Family Field and children’s play areas are also usually open during the summer time. These attractions are suitable for families with younger children.
Fall and Halloween
Each year during the autumn season Krause Farms operates its annual pumpkin patch. Folks can take a stroll out into the farm’s fields and pick the perfect pumpkin. The gourds range in size from small, hand-sized pumpkins to ones bigger than your head.
In addition to pumpkins, Krause also offers a variety of seasonal vegetables within its u-pick opportunities. Offerings include various other types of gourds and squash such as acorn, butternut and spaghetti varieties.
In 2019 Krause Farms offered a living barley maze in the fall. Admission was free and visitors had the chance to win a small pumpkin by answering questions found within the maze. We imagine this will be offered again in future years.
