The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier
With 106 guestrooms, the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a medium-sized full-service hotel. It’s located right by the waterfront, so many of its rooms as well as its restaurants have views of Burrard Inlet and the Vancouver Harbour. The hotel is also pet-friendly, so folk can bring their four-legged friends along for their stays.
The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is a part of the Pinnacle Hotel chain. The Vancouver-based company has sister hotels in both downtown Vancouver (the Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Harbourfront) and Whistler (the Pinnacle Hotel Whistler).
Pinnacle Hotel Location
Located in the Lower Lonsdale area of North Vancouver at 138 Victory Ship Way, the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier is central to one of North Vancouver’s busiest districts. The hotel is close to the SeaBus – the terminal is just a 5-minute stroll away – and walking distance to shops and restaurants in the Shipyards area as well as at Lonsdale Quay.
From the hotel and the surrounding boardwalk there is a fantastic view of Burrard Inlet and the Vancouver skyline in the distance. Also right outside the hotel on Friday evenings in the summer is the Shipyards Night Market, and year-round there is Shipbuilders’ Pier which is nice to walk along.
Amenities for guests at the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier include a fitness centre with cardio equipment, weights and a yoga studio. There is also a 25-metre 5-lane pool with a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The hotel also offers complimentary bike rentals and free Wi-Fi throughout the building.
The Pinnacle Hotel has two featured restaurants of its own: The Lobby and Pier7. Also in the area are Anatoli Souvlaki, Burgoo, the District, JOEY, Tap & Barrel and multiple other great dining establishments. The Lonsdale Quay Public Market also has a very good food court.
TIP: Not so many people know this, but the pool at the Pinnacle Hotel is open to the public. Registered lengths swimming is available for people who pre-register. For details call 604-987-7529.
The Lobby Restaurant
The Lobby serves a medley of BC-inspired food, including seafood and other fresh produce from the region. The restaurant is usually open from 6:30 am until 11:00 pm and can be found right in the hotel’s lobby facing the Shipyards and the ocean.
On the second floor at the Pinnacle is the banquet room. That’s where you’ll find the view of Burrard Inlet as well as private functions and special occasion events (like the hotel’s annual Mother’s Day Brunch most years).
Note: A policy of the restaurant for large groups in the past (like for 20 or more people) has been that the bill (including drinks) must be paid by a single cheque or credit card – so no separate bills or individual payments for drinks. This may or may not still be the case.
The Pier 7 Restaurant can be found at 25 Wallace Mews, right on the waterfront. It features boat-to-table seafood and other fresh products from BC. Pier7 is usually open from 11:30 am until late every day. They also usually offer a weekend brunch special which starts at 10:30 am.
While not located in the hotel proper, Pier 7 is still considered one of the hotel’s restaurants (and it’s owned by the same company).
The Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier participates in several “green” initiatives. The hotel is certified to the International Green Key standard, which means they meet the environmental standard in 13 criteria areas.
Staff at the Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier also usually participate in the annual Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup which is an initiative of the Ocean Wise Program. Finally, the hotel donates leftover soaps and shampoo products to Clean the World, a charity that sterilizes the products, recycles them and then distributes them to communities in need.
