Farm Attractions
Taves Family Farms and Applebarn offers a variety of fun-for-all-ages activities. Below is a list of some of the attractions and amenities the farm offers at various times of the year.
Country Store
The Country Store at Taves Farm sells fresh produce as well as baked goods, fresh pressed juices, homemade preserves and more. Most goods are homemade and locally produced.
Goji berries are the first crop of the season, followed by apples and then pumpkins and gourds. There is some overlap, though, so if you go early enough in the fall season you can pick both apples and pumpkins.
There is also a Bee Hive Viewing Window where visitors can see bees in action making honey.

U-Pick Farm Produce
Taves Farm offers multiple varieties of produce for folk to pick, including goji berries in late spring, apples in late summer/autumn and pumpkins in the fall. Pumpkins are priced by size and type. Goji berries and apples are usually priced by the bag.
Taves Estate Cidery
Taves Farm is also home to its very own estate cidery. The place makes its own apple cider from apples picked fresh off the farm. It’s really good!
Just outside the cidery is an adults-only sitting area. Folk can sit there, enjoy their cider, and take in the sights and sounds of the farm. At the very back there is also a small goat pen.
The cidery is usually only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. In the fall, however, it is sometimes open on additional days.

Spring Attractions
Around Easter, Taves Family Farms runs their Easterfest event. This includes hay rides, live entertainment and access to the farm’s year-round activities. Since it’s Easter, there are lots of cute bunnies to pet too!
Easter at Taves
Taves Family Farms has a family-friendly and dog-friendly event on the Friday to Sunday of the Easter Long Weekend each year. At the Easterfest event children can hunt for Easter eggs, admire the animals and play on all the fun jumping, sliding and other play structures. Attendees can also go on a hayride.
General admission for Easterfest in 2025 was about $18 on the Friday and $21 on the weekend (plus taxes and online fees) for anyone ages 3 and older. With this you got access to the hayrides, petting barn, and Farmville play area. If you wanted to hunt for Easter eggs you had to pay extra for an Easterfest TREATpass. The price for that was $13.75 for children in 2025. Dog Easterfest TREATpasses were also available for the same price.
Taves Family Farms also hosts an Easter-themed event for adults. In 2025 Hunt ‘n Sip took place from 5:45 pm to 8:30 pm on the Saturday of the Easter Long Weekend. The event included an egg hunt, live music, cider, food and more. Tickets cost about $87 each.

Autumn Attractions
During the fall season the farm is open six or so days a week from late August until the end of October. There are lots of fun things to do at the farm, especially for young families with children (or adults who want to enjoy a drink at the cidery). Up until late September there are corn mazes to explore, play structures to have fun on, and apples to pick. Beginning in mid to late September and running until Halloween, the Pumpkin Patch is also open.
At the Pumpkin Patch folk can take a hay ride out to the field and pick their own pumpkin. The pumpkins range in size and usually cost anywhere from around $4 to $35 or more.
In 2025 Taves’ Magic of Sunflowers Experience took place most days except for Tuesdays between August 21st and September 7th. The Magic of Sunflowers Experience included the farm’s magical sunflower garden, hayride, petting barn, Farmville, jumping pillows, Merlin’s maze and the country store. Taves’ Magic of Fall Experience, meanwhile, runs from September 13th until October 31st.

Kids Activities at the Farm
Taves Applebarn features a selection of activities in two different areas for kids to enjoy.
The Farmville area has several options for children. There are pedal karts, a couple of jumping pillows, hay rides, a zipline, a playground and slides.
Also on the farm is their Bunny Town and Petting Barn. Here they have a collection of animals such as bunnies, goats, sheep, chickens, pheasants, an alpaca and a turkey. Folk can feed the animals as well. Feed bags cost a couple of dollars and are sold at most of the major stopping points including the cidery and country store.

Weekends Only
Some activities and attractions are only open on weekends at Taves Farm. Pony rides are sometimes available on weekends in the summer for folk that weigh less than 85 pounds. There is also a concession stand, corn gun, pumpkin cannon and corn and potato roaster. (Note: Most of these activities have an extra charge.)
