Taylor Swift Events in Vancouver
Taylor Swift has turned into a pop culture juggernaut in recent years. The American singer-songwriter was the best-selling music artist in both 2022 and 2023. Vancouver was the last stop of her nearly two-year long concert tour, titled The Eras Tour.
The Eras Tour began in Arizona in March, 2023, and included 152 shows in over 20 countries. The many stops included Vancouver, where Taylor Swift played three concerts in early December, 2024. Vancouver was the last stop on the tour.
December wasn’t the only time to celebrate Taylor Swift for fans in the Lower Mainland. Playland had a special Eras Tour-themed event on June 15th last year.
The Eras Tour at BC Place
The three Taylor Swift Vancouver shows took place on December 6th, 7th and 8th at BC Place. The stadium has a capacity of over 50,000 seats, and fans packed it for each of the three shows. The tour was a massive event.
Tickets for the Vancouver shows went on sale in November, 2023. They sold out almost instantly! Tickets available for resale in other markets had sometimes gone for thousands of dollars. Many Swifties (ardent Taylor Swift fans) found it cheaper to fly to other countries to buy tickets for shows there!
Swift’s performance on The Eras Tour ran for over three hours and included around 45 songs. Gracie Abrams, a young American pop artist, preceded her at the Vancouver shows. Abrams was one of the most recurring opening acts on The Eras Tour.
What is The Eras Tour?
The Eras Tour was Taylor Swift’s most extravagant concert tour yet. The tour was named so because the show was split up into her different “eras” as a performer, with three different stages and the set design, costumes and special effects changing dramatically between various segments of the concert. The set list pulled songs from all 11 of Swift’s studio albums. Entertainment critics compared the concert to a Broadway show.
By the end of 2023, despite the tour only being half done, it was already the highest-grossing concert tour of all-time. The Eras Tour was the first concert tour to gross over $1 billion. It had the potential to rise to $2 billion by the time it ended its run in December last year.
The tour was further supported by the release of the movie Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Three separate concerts from early in the tour were filmed and combined into one concert film released in October, 2023. The movie version of the concert is condensed slightly, but is still close to three hours long. It became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, making over $250 million at the box office.
Canyon Lights (Taylor’s Version)
Canyon Lights is the holiday season celebration at Capilano Suspension Bridge. From mid-November, 2024 until mid-January, 2025, the famous attraction was full of Christmas illuminations and decorations.
Last year, the park also had a Taylor Swift theme from December 5th to 9th. The suspension bridge resembled a giant friendship bracelet, and Swifties could create their own friendship bracelets on-site too. There were acoustic renditions of Taylor Swift songs and a variety of themed photo opportunities as well. Taylor-inspired treats were available for purchase and there were also swag bags for Swifties to win.
See our article about Canyon Lights for more details about the attraction.
Vancouver Christmas Market Taylor Swift Events & Passes in December
The Vancouver Christmas Market is a festive place to visit any time between mid-November and Christmas Eve. It was an especially fun place last year when the market had special events like its Taylor Swift Karaoke & Trivia events on Thursday, December 5th.
The market also had a special Swiftie Flex Pass that was good for unlimited entry between December 4th and 10th. It cost about $32 (which is around $8 less than a full season’s pass, although prices may vary).
The Vancouver Christmas Market is located outside the Vancouver Convention Centre not far from the Coal Harbour Seawall.

Theatresports: Taylor’s Version!
The Improv Centre on Granville Island puts on a number of hilarious shows throughout the year. On Friday, December 6th in 2024, the centre’s Theatresports show had a Taylor Swift theme.
Two teams of improv comedians competed for laughs with jokes based on hits by Taylor Swift.
