Taylor Swift Events in Vancouver

Taylor Swift has turned into a pop culture juggernaut in recent years. The American singer-songwriter was the best-selling music artist in both 2022 and 2023 and could well hold the title again this year! She’s currently in the middle of a nearly two-year long concert tour, entitled the Eras Tour.

The Eras Tour began in Arizona in March of 2023, and includes 152 shows in over 20 countries. The many stops include Vancouver, where she plays three concerts in early December, 2024. In fact, Vancouver is the very last stop on the tour!

December isn’t the only time to celebrate Taylor Swift for fans in the Lower Mainland. Playland had a special Eras Tour-themed event on June 15th.

The Eras Tour at BC Place

The three Taylor Swift Vancouver shows take place on December 6th, 7th and 8th at BC Place. The stadium has a capacity of over 50,000 seats, and it’ll be packed for each of the three shows. The tour is a massive event!

Tickets for the Vancouver shows went on sale in November of last year. They sold out more or less instantly! Tickets available for resale in other markets have sometimes gone for thousands of dollars. Many Swifties (ardent Taylor Swift fans) have actually found it cheaper to fly to other countries and buy tickets for shows there!

Swift’s performance on the Eras Tour runs for over three hours and includes around 45 songs. She’s preceded at the Vancouver shows by Gracie Abrams, a young American pop artist. Abrams is one of the most recurring opening acts on the Eras Tour.

What is the Eras Tour?

The Eras Tour is Taylor Swift’s most extravagant concert tour yet. It has its name because the show is split up into her different “eras” as a performer, with three different stages and the set design, costumes and special effects changing dramatically between various sections of the concert. The set list pulls songs from all 11 of Swift’s studio albums. Entertainment critics have compared the concert to a Broadway show.

By the end of 2023, despite the tour only being half done, it was already the highest-grossing concert tour of all-time. The Eras Tour is the first concert tour to gross over $1 billion. It could potentially rise to $2 billion by the time it ends in December.

The tour was further supported by the release of the movie Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour. Three separate concerts from early in the tour were filmed and combined into one concert film released in October of 2023. The movie version of the concert is condensed slightly, but is still close to three hours long. It became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, making over $250 million at the box office.

Canyon Lights (Taylor’s Version)

Canyon Lights is the holiday season celebration at Capilano Suspension Bridge. From mid-November of 2024 until mid-January of 2025, the world-famous attraction is full of Christmas illuminations and decorations.

This year, the park also has a Taylor Swift theme from December 5th to 9th. The suspension bridge resembles a giant friendship bracelet, and Swifties can create their own friendship bracelets on site too. There are acoustic renditions of Taylor Swift songs and a variety of themed photo opportunities as well. Taylor-inspired treats are available for purchase and there’s also swag bags for Swifties to win.

For more details about the attraction, see our article about Canyon Lights. To learn more about the Taylor Swift-themed nights, or visit capbridge.com.
