About the Greater Vancouver Zoo

The Greater Vancouver Zoo is a 120-acre wildlife attraction in the Fraser Valley. It’s home to over five dozen species and many rescued and donated animals. The zoo is a family-friendly wildlife attraction where visitors can see animals from around the world while learning about wildlife and conservation.

The zoo has focused on education, animal care and conservation since its establishment in 1970. Its grounds feature a variety of animal habitats, walking trails and educational experiences giving guests opportunities to explore the zoo at their own pace. Most of the enclosures are quite large, which is great for the animals.

The zoo is home to a wide range of animals, with exhibits and experiences designed to provide closer views of wildlife and information about the species. Seasonal programs and special animal encounters also give visitors additional ways to learn about the animals and their habitats.

In addition to Brew at the Zoo, the Greater Vancouver Zoo hosts other events at other times of the year too, including around Easter, Mother’s Day and Christmas. There is also the Spring Festival at the Zoo which takes place around Lunar New Year.
