Tutto Restaurant & Bar in Yaletown

Tutto Restaurant & Bar is an intimate, upscale establishment that serves authentic Italian cuisine with wine and other beverages. It’s a great place to enjoy traditional-style pasta, pizza, meat dishes and other Italian favourites. It’s not just a pizza and pasta joint. Far from it! It’s a classy place!

The dining venue is inside a historic brick building that’s been in Vancouver since 1908. The renovated interior, however, is both modern and classic. With its design partially inspired by the Italian Renaissance, the restaurant has a colourful mural on the ceiling in one area. There’s also Italian background music and other distinguishing features.

Tutto’s Menu Description

Tutto Restaurant & Bar is only open for lunch and dinner. There are a few lunch specials, but for the most part, the menu is the same throughout the afternoon and evening. From our experience, the food is exceptional! Busiest times are typically from around 7:00 pm onwards.

Starters at the restaurant include focaccia bread, minestrone soup, meatballs, calamari, salads, and more. As of January, 2024, featured dishes are veal osso buco, braised lamb shank, braised beef short rib and surf & turf. The main menu also offers other meats, separated by sea and land variations. There are 10 different pastas and pizzas to choose from as well. Pasta options include gnocchi, mushroom risotto and Bolognese, along with Margherita, Dolce and Diavola pizzas. For dessert, there’s Tiramisù cake, ice cream with olive oil, and biscotti with berries, to name just a few of the options.

The drinks menu at Tutto Restaurant & Bar is particularly impressive. There are all sorts of champagnes and red and white wines from different parts of the world. Folks can enjoy drinks from Italy, Germany, France and Spain, among other nations, as well as local wines from the Okanagan. There are also Italian-inspired cocktails, on top of several beers and ciders.

Happy Hour at Tutto

Happy Hour runs from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on weekdays (from Tuesday to Fridays). The Happy Hour menu is also good on Saturdays between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

Happy Hour menu items include focaccia bread & olive oil, calamari, garlic prawns, meatballs, carpaccio, prosciutto, pizzas, a few different pastas and a number of other items.

For drinks we’ve had the Tutto Negroni and White Peach Bellini. Both were excellent. As of January, 2024, Happy Hour highballs are $7 for a single and $12 for a double. Red, white and rosé 5 oz. wines, meanwhile, are $8.

We’re told that Happy Hour appetizers are the same size as the regular appetizers available at other times during the day, except for the pastas which are half portion sizes of the full menu entrées.

Click Tutto Happy Hour Menu to see the full range of specials available until 6:00 pm.

Our Experience at Tutto

We had dinner at Tutto in July of 2023. It was our first time at the restaurant and we are impressed. We were greeted by the very attentive maître d’ and escorted to our table. It’s a classy place, the seats are comfortable, and first impressions are all positive. Our evening there was a memorable experience!

The friendly and very professional waiter took our drink orders. Over the course of the evening we had Happy Hour cocktails, a glass of champagne and a couple of glasses of red wine. The sommelier recommended the wine based on our food order and her suggestions were excellent.

We arrived at the restaurant before 6:00 pm, so in time for the Happy Hour appetizers. We chose the Tutto Meatballs with garlic toasted focaccia (for $15) and Wagyu Beef Carpaccio (for $18). Both were delicious!

For dinner one of us ordered the Lobster Tagliatelle which was a pasta with Atlantic lobster, cream sauce and tomatoes. It was a real treat! Wanting to try a selection of things, the other person had Tutto’s Mixed Grill which included seabass, veal, a couple of tiger prawns, vegetables and arugula salad. It was also a good choice and all very delicious. The veal was exceptionally tender and not deep fried. The zucchini and asparagus were crisp and cooked to perfection. Everything was nicely presented. You could tell this was a higher-end Italian establishment with an accomplished chef.

Video of Our Tutto Experience

For an idea of what the restaurant looks like, check out the following video clip. It shows a few scenes from our dinner at Tutto in the summer of 2023. In the video you’ll see the outside entrance to the restaurant, a bit of the restaurant’s interior decor, and our Lobster Tagliatelle and Tutto’s Mixed Grill entrées. At the end you’ll also catch a glimpse of some amazing Tiramisù!

Our Desserts at Tutto

For dessert we had the Tiramisù and it was divine! We also had the Torta Caprese which is a flourless almond chocolate cake with vanilla gelato. To finish things off, the waiter recommended a digestif. Based on his advice, we had a Nononi which is a bitter liqueur. It’s made with a grape-based Italian brandy infused with herbs and botanicals. Wow! Was that ever a nice way to finish off our Italian dinner! Next time we might finish with the same, plus an espresso!

We loved our dining experience at Tutto and look forward to going back again. The restaurant is a place you’ll want to go to on a date, for a special occasion or to take guests who like authentic Italian cuisine. If you like Italian food, we highly recommend this place!
