Christmas Wonderland on the Drive features live music, refreshments and horse-drawn carriage rides at Vancouver’s Grandview Park and Commercial Drive.
In 2025 the event happens on the last Sunday in November. On that same weekend there is Christmas in the Square in Port Coquitlam and the Spirit of the Season Celebration in North Vancouver. Both the Wesbrook Village Holiday Market and Shipyards Christmas Market start up for the season then too.
Christmas Wonderland on the Drive in 2025
In 2025 Christmas Wonderland on the Drive takes place on November 30th. The event includes a tree-lighting ceremony along with other seasonal activities.
While some of the activities offered at the event are the same as those at other Christmas events elsewhere in the Lower Mainland, Christmas Wonderland on the Drive offers a couple of more unique attractions. The most unique of these extra offerings is free horse-drawn carriage rides.
When and Where
The festival happens on Sunday, November 30th, from 2:00 until 5:00 pm at Grandview Park. The park is located at 1657 Charles Street in Vancouver, roughly an eight-minute drive from Trout Lake Community Centre. The main event of the celebration is the tree-lighting ceremony which takes place at the end of the event at 5:00 pm.
What to Expect
Christmas Wonderland on the Drive activities include photo opportunities with Santa Claus, crafts, the lighting of the Christmas tree in the park, and carriage rides. There is also live music and complimentary holiday goodies and hot chocolate.
Admission to the event is free and everyone can attend, not just people who live nearby.
