The Elektra Women’s Choir is a talented group of women who sing together. The Vancouver-based choir hosts several concerts at different Lower Mainland locations.
Concerts during the Christmas holiday season include ones at Pacific Spirit United Church in Vancouver on the last weekend of November.

Elektra Women’s Choir in Vancouver in 2026/27
The Elektra Women’s Choir is a large, experienced choir in Vancouver. Initially formed in 1987, the all-women’s choir features around 48 members. The group runs weekly rehearsals and puts on a few shows each year. So far, Elektra has commissioned and sung more than 100 different compositions. They are an auditioned and prize-winning ensemble that has performed around the world.
2026/27 Season
Elektra Women’s Choir has unveiled its 40th season – the second under Artistic Director Cassie Luftspring, following founder Morna Edmundson’s 38-year tenure. The 2026/2027 program blends contemporary works with beloved traditions, with a mix of ticketed concerts and free-with-RSVP events.
Season tickets packages are available for the three main stage shows (Chez Nous, Radiant Dawn and Ruby) and offer savings of 20% compared to buying tickets individually. Unless noted otherwise, concerts take place at Pacific Spirit United Church (2195 West 45th Avenue, Vancouver).
Reading Session of New Compositions
- Monday, October 19th, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
A unique event where the audience is taken behind the curtain to see the creative process for composers. The night features Canadian composers sharing unfinished works with the Elektra Women’s Choir and receiving feedback on them.
The event is free with an RSVP needed.
Chez Nous: Christmas with Elektra

Chez Nous, Elektra’s 2026 Christmas celebration, blends traditional carols with contemporary sounds. This year’s concert also features performances with the Mira Youth Mentorship singers.
Tickets cost $45 for adults, $40 for seniors, and $20 for students.
Radiant Dawn
- Saturday, March 20th, 2026, at 7:30 pm.
- Sunday, March 21st, 2026, at 3:00 pm.
This spring concert explores the themes of sunrise and new beginnings. Radiant Dawn brings together Western and Indian vocal traditions and also features the premiere of a new piece created by Canadian artist Suba Sankaran.
Tickets cost $45 for adults, $40 for seniors, and $20 for students.
Ruby: The 40th Anniversary Concert
- Saturday, May 15th, 2026, at 7:30 pm (inside Christ Church Cathedral, 690 Burrard Street, Vancouver).
- Sunday, May 16th, 2026, at 3:00 pm (inside Good Shepherd Church 2250 150 Street, Surrey).
This concert is the biggest performance of the season, celebrating 40 years of Elektra shows. Alumni singers take the stage alongside the current group, and co-founder Morna Edmundson steps into the conductor role one more time for a single piece near the end of the night.

Choral Encounters 2027
- Monday, May 31st, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
Choral Encounters is Elektra’s annual celebration of community singing. Guest choirs of all ages join Elektra for an evening of non-competitive performances filled with laughter, connection, and fantastic music. This concert is free, but an RSVP through the official website is required to secure a ticket.
