Vancouver Welsh Men's Choir

The Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir is an all-male choir. It has around 60 members who perform a mix of traditional Celtic music and modern songs.

The Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir

Founded in 1979, the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir is a group of auditioned, all-male amateur singers. They are led by two professional musicians: Music Director Alison Nixon and pianist Miri Lee.

The Choir performs around a dozen or so concerts a year, including benefit concerts to raise money for charity. They also have a Community Outreach Program, which helps those who otherwise would not have the funds to attend their performances.

Vancouver Welsh Men’s Concerts in 2026/27

Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir concerts typically happen from the fall through the spring or early summer. Highlights include a Remembrance Day concert, a festive series of Christmas performances, and a special Celtic celebration in partnership with CelticFest.

The following concerts take place during the first half of the 2026/27 season.

Wednesday, November 11th, 2026 – Letters from the Past, Letters from the Future is a Remembrance Day-themed concert at 2:00 at Broadmoor Baptist Church. The address is 8140 Saunders Road in Richmond. Tickets range from $10 to $35, and are available via the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir website and Eventbrite.
Saturday, December 5th, 2026 – Christmas Concert at Christ Church Cathedral at 690 Burrard Street in Vancouver.
Sunday, December 6th, 2026 – Christmas Concert with Winter Harp at the Massey Theatre. The theatre’s address is 735 8th Avenue in New Westminster.
Friday, December 11th, 2026 – Christmas Concert at Highlands United Church. The church is at 3255 Edgemont Boulevard in North Vancouver.
Saturday, December 12th, 2026 – Christmas Concert at St. Dunstan’s Church, located at 3025 264 Street in Aldergrove.
Saturday, December 19th, 2026 – Christmas Concert at Shaughnessy Heights United Church, located at 1550 West 33rd Avenue in Vancouver.

The following concerts took place during the spring last season. Details on spring concerts for 2026/27 are to be confirmed as of mid-October.

Saturday, March 14th, 2026 – The choir performed its CelticFest concert at St. Andrew’s Wesley in downtown Vancouver. For details, see the CelticFest Vancouver website.
Friday, May 29th, 2026 – Songs of Home and Horizon was the choir’s season finale concert. It took place at North Vancouver’s Highlands United Church at 3255 Edgemont Boulevard.
