Metro Vancouver and Lower Mainland Ribfest Events

Vancouver Ribfest Events

Events involving live music and barbecued food in the Vancouver region include Port Moody Ribfest, Ribfest Langley and Chilliwack Ribfest.

The first two are hosted by local Rotary Clubs, with funds raised benefitting both local and international Rotary-related charitable projects. The last one is hosted by the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival. Port Moody Ribfest and Ribfest Langley with the Rotary Clubs are unrelated to the event in Chilliwack, although they do all have some of the same rib vendors.

In addition to the above ribfest events, the PNE Fair and Cloverdale Rodeo are also famous for their barbecued rib vendors, several of which participate in the Lower Mainland ribfest events as well. Both the event in Vancouver and the one in Surrey usually have an area with two or three rib vendors.

Ribfest Events in Port Moody, Langley, Mission, Chilliwack & the PNE

The Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley host three big events in the summer featuring lots of barbecued ribs. There’s Port Moody Ribfest and Chilliwack Ribfest in July followed by Ribfest Langley in August. In 2024, there was also a Mission Ribfest, but it did not happen in 2025. Whether it happens in 2026 is yet to be confirmed. There are other meat-related events at other times too, like Brewery & the Beast in July (for which you have to pay admission). There are also barbecue rib vendors at the PNE Fair in the summer.

The three ribfest events in Port Moody, Langley, and Chilliwack are fun, free to attend (or by donation), and well worth checking out. Even if you don’t like ribs, there are live performances, beer gardens, activities for children, and vegetarian options. 2026 dates and details are below.

Port Moody Ribfest

Port Moody Ribfest takes place over three days at Rocky Point Park each year. The venue is located at 2800 Murray Street. In 2026, the festival runs from Friday, July 17th, to Sunday, July 19th, with daily hours from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm. The event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Port Moody, a non-profit service organization that supports many community initiatives through funds raised at the festival.

Entry to Port Moody Ribfest is by donation, with contributions benefiting the Rotary Club of Port Moody and its charitable work. The festival typically attracts tens of thousands of visitors over the weekend and features BBQ from seven rib vendors, live music performances, and a park-wide beer garden. There is also a Family Fun Zone with activities designed for kids and families. In addition, the event includes a popular 50/50 Draw, with proceeds supporting local causes.

Chilliwack Ribfest debuted in 2023 and returns in 2026 as part of the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival series.

Admission to the event is by donation, with proceeds supporting local charities. The 2026 festival will feature five championship rib vendors, live music including a performance by local artist Trevor McDonald, an expanded beverage area, a local marketplace curated by BC Shop Local, and additional food trucks provided by the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival. Ribfest Langley

Ribfest Langley takes place at McLeod Athletic Park each year. Located at the corner of 216th Street and 56th Avenue, the venue hosts Ribfest Langley from Friday, August 14th to Sunday, August 16th, 2026.

The same as with Port Moody Ribfest, this event is hosted by local Rotary Clubs, in this case, clubs from Langley. Funds raised from the event benefit great charitable causes. Attending the event means you’ll have fun and help Rotary Clubs do good things in both the local community and abroad.

Ribfest Langley is free to attend but donations to the Langley Rotary Clubs are greatly appreciated at the gate. There’s a 50/50 Draw with several prizes to be won.
