Coquitlam Food Truck Festival

The Coquitlam Food Truck Festival is an annual event that features food vendors, an artisan market and live entertainment at Town Centre Park.

It’s one of many similar events put on by the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival each year. In 2024 it’s called “Coquitlam Community Fest” and it happens on the weekend of April 27th and 28th. Other similar events in the series are Chilliwack Party in the Park (May 4th & 5th), Food Truck Fest at BCIT (May 11th and 12th), Langley Community Day (June 8th), Chilliwack Ribfest (July 26th to 28th) and Mission Ribfest (August 2nd to 5th).

Food Truck Festival at Town Centre Park

The Coquitlam Community Fest is a great event at a beautiful venue. There is live music and a wide selection of food to choose from, along with an artisan market and arts and crafts activities. At the park there is also a fabulous kids’ play area and a beautiful walking trail around Lafarge Lake.

When and Where

In 2024 the Coquitlam Community Fest takes place on the weekend of April 27th and 28th. On the Saturday, it runs from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm. Hours on the Sunday are from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm.

The event happens at Coquitlam‘s Town Centre Park which is located at 1299 Pinetree Way. The trucks usually set up in the parking lot just off Trevor Wingrove Way which is between Lafarge Lake and Percy Perry Stadium.

What to Expect

At the Coquitlam Block Party you can expect to see 20 or more food truck vendors, several artisan vendors and a musician or band playing live music. On a sunny day you can also expect to see several hundred people, all munching on various tasty treats.

In 2024, some of the food truck vendors include Shameless Buns, Fusion Icy, Reel Mac & Cheese and It’s All About Grill. Other favourites include Bao Buns, Dos Amigos, Hugs Mini Donuts, Slavic Rolls, Street Dogs, Teriyaki Boys, The Mad Greek Food Truck, Twisted Potato Express, Wings Food Truck and others. Artisan vendors at the event typically sell everything from jewellery to handmade chocolates, soaps, cookies and other fancy items.

Tips & Advice

Below are some suggestions to help you make the most of your visit to the Coquitlam Food Truck Festival.

TIP #1: Take public transit if you can. The Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain Station is just a short walk away.

TIP #2: Town Centre Park is a beautiful park with a wide range of amenities. If you have young children don’t forget to spend time at the playground and water park. Lafarge Lake is also a wonderful spot to walk around.
