Known for its location and unique French-inspired theme, the Executive Hotel Le Soleil is a classy 4-star hotel in downtown Vancouver.
Hotel Le Soleil in Vancouver
Translated as the “Sun Hotel” in English, Hotel Le Soleil is one of several properties owned by the Vancouver-based Executive Hotels and Resorts chain. The building was named one of Canada’s top 25 most luxurious places to stay by TripAdvisor in 2012. Designers of the hotel drew inspiration from overseas buildings and styles of decor. As a result, the experience is distinct from what most other local hotels have to offer.
Located at 567 Hornby Street in the City of Vancouver, Hotel Le Soleil is a couple of blocks from the Executive EXchange Hotel which is owned by the same company. Both places are just a short walk from some of Vancouver’s most popular tourist attractions including Robson Street, Canada Place and Gastown.
Hotel Le Soleil contains 113 rooms, all of which are suites with bedrooms and lounging areas in separate spaces. The style of furniture and decor in the rooms is highlighted with red and gold trim which is a nice touch. The building’s prime location along with the upscale and European feel of the rooms makes it popular with a variety of clientele including visiting actors and actresses.

Amenities available in the suites include robes, slippers, a Keurig coffee machine, a secure safe, complimentary Internet access and a couple of flat-screen televisions. Each room also comes with a private mini bar plus a complimentary umbrella for use on rainy days. Pets are welcome to stay at the hotel for about $25 per night.
Until late 2020, the Copper Chimney Grill & Bar was a highly-rated restaurant located inside the Hotel Le Soleil. This on-site dining establishment primarily served fine Indian dishes, but other types of cuisine too. Guests staying at Le Soleil were able to order from an exclusive $30 menu.
The Copper Chimney looked like it was going to reopen, but then didn’t. Today, in its place, is Alouette which is a French-style bistro.
The on-site exercise room at Hotel Le Soleil is mainly for cardio. In the cardio room guests have complimentary access to Peloton bikes. For guests wanting more of a full-body workout, including access to weights, a pool and more, there is a YWCA Health and Fitness Centre next door to the hotel. Drop-in fitness classes are offered in the other building as well, but at an additional cost of $11 per session.
