The Executive Hotel Le Soleil is a classy 4-star hotel in downtown Vancouver. The hotel is known for its location and unique French-inspired theme.
Hotel Le Soleil in Vancouver
Translated as the “Sun Hotel” in English, Hotel Le Soleil is owned by the Vancouver-based Executive Hotels and Resorts chain. The building was named one of Canada’s top 25 most luxurious places to stay by TripAdvisor in 2012. Designers of the hotel drew inspiration from overseas buildings and styles of decor. As a result, the experience is distinct from what most other local hotels have to offer.
Located at 567 Hornby Street in the City of Vancouver, Hotel Le Soleil is a couple of blocks from the Executive EXchange Hotel which is owned by the same company. Both places are just a short walk from some of Vancouver’s most popular tourist attractions including Robson Street, Canada Place and Gastown.
Hotel Le Soleil contains 113 rooms, all of which are suites with bedrooms and lounging areas in separate spaces. The style of furniture and decor in the rooms is highlighted with red and gold trim which is a nice touch. The building’s prime location along with the upscale and European feel of the rooms makes it popular with a variety of clientele including visiting actors and actresses.

Copper Chimney Grill & Bar
Until late 2020, the Copper Chimney Grill & Bar was a highly-rated restaurant located inside the Hotel Le Soleil. This on-site dining establishment primarily served fine Indian dishes, but other types of cuisine too. Guests staying at Le Soleil were able to order from an exclusive $30 menu.
Before the restaurant closed in November 2020 due to COVID-19, the Copper Chimney was open for takeout every day of the week. Dine-in hours were from 12 pm to 8 pm from Tuesdays to Fridays, and from 4 pm to 9 pm on Saturdays. Happy Hour specials were available from 3 pm to 6 pm every day.
As of March 2021, the restaurant remains closed, and it appears the closure is likely permanent, although exact details are to be confirmed. For more information visit the Copper Chimney website.
(Note: Although the Copper Chimney is rumoured to be closed for good, Alouette is a French-style bistro that might be opening in its place sometime in 2021.)
The on-site exercise room at Hotel Le Soleil is mainly for cardio. In the cardio room guests have complimentary access to Peloton bikes. For guests wanting more of a full-body workout, including access to weights, a pool and more, there is a YWCA Health and Fitness Centre next door to the hotel. Drop-in fitness classes are offered in the other building as well, but at an additional cost of $11 per session.
