Celebrate the Night Community Event and Fireworks
Celebrate the Night is a free family-friendly event that features pretty lights, lanterns, craft activities, storytelling sessions, games, a costume contest and food trucks. There’s also live entertainment to enjoy each year. A top highlight at the event is the fireworks which blast off at the end of the night.
The event features a carousel ride and roving entertainment. Food trucks in 2026 include Truckin’ BBQ, Soda Rebel, REEL Mac & Cheese, Little oOties Mini Donuts, Just Jerkin’ Around, Japadog, Gary’s Kettle Corn, and Corndog King.

Entertainment at Celebrate the Night
Celebrate the Night features live entertainment throughout the evening. The music lineup for 2026 just features one artist as of late September. That’s Teapot in the Tuba. There’s also a contortionist performance.
Beyond the stage, attendees can explore multiple light displays and visit the balloon twisting and face painting stations. Expect carnival games, supernatural curiosities and a photo booth.
There’s also an official costume contest! Photos of the costumes must be uploaded online on the event weekend, and winners are announced soon afterwards. There are typically gift cards and other goodies to be won, with the grand winner taking home hundreds of dollars worth of prizes.
The fireworks finale starts a little after 8:00 pm and is set off from the City Hall tower. The display typically comes with a soundtrack timed with the fireworks.

Tips & Advice
Below are some suggestions to help you make the most of your visit to Maple Ridge and the Celebrate the Night event.
TIP #1: Memorial Peace Park sits in the heart of Maple Ridge at 11930 224 Street. There is a fair bit of parking in the area, but not a ton. Try to arrive early and be prepared to walk a bit.
TIP #2: The event happens rain or shine, so if it looks like rain, still go, but remember to take your umbrella and waterproof gear.
TIP #3: Make a day of your trip and explore the area. Kanaka Creek Regional Park is close by, and Alouette Lake and Golden Ears Provincial Park aren’t too far away either. All are beautiful this time of year and they make great places for a walk. WildPlay Elements Park is another awesome place to check out in Maple Ridge. Their ropes courses and ziplines are amazing. There is also Alouette Cemetery which is an award-winning Halloween display outside someone’s house in Maple Ridge.
TIP #4: Wear your spookiest costume to enter the Best Dressed contest. (The top prize is worth up to $450. There are four runner-up prizes too.)
