VANCOUVER GIANTS GAMES SUSPENDED

Due to the coronavirus, Vancouver Giants games were initially postponed indefinitely. To learn more about the suspension of activities see the Vancouver Giants Statement.

On March 23rd, the postponement became a full cancellation of the remainder of the 2019/20 season. On that date the Western Hockey League (WHL) announced that it was cancelling the playoffs and all remaining games in the spring of 2020. To learn more about the cancellation of the rest of the season, see the WHL website.

The Vancouver Giants

The Vancouver Giants used to be based at the Pacific Coliseum at the PNE, but now play home games at the much newer and more modern facility in the Fraser Valley. If you love watching live affordable ice hockey, then their games can be one of “Vancouver’s best places” to be.

About the Vancouver Giants

The Western Hockey League (WHL) is lower than the National Hockey League (NHL), but still very exciting hockey to watch, plus much more affordable. Giants’ tickets usually cost between about $23 and $30, which is cheap compared to games for the Vancouver Canucks.

As part of the Western Hockey League, the Vancouver Giants play against teams from all four Western Canadian provinces as well as from Washington and Oregon in the States. Other BC teams include the Victoria Royals, Kamloops Blazers, Prince George Cougars and Kootenay Ice (which is based in Cranbrook).

Vancouver Giants players range in age from about 17 to 20 and they all hope one day to make it to professional hockey, and a fair number of them do.
