The Music Man is a Broadway musical by Highlands United Productions that took place in North Vancouver’s Edgemont Village on March 21 to 25 in 2018.
The play, by Meredith Wilson, is about a con artist who pretends to be a band teacher in rural Iowa.
The Music Man at Highlands United
The Music Man ran from Wednesday, March 21, until Sunday, March 25, 2018. Shows were at 7:30 pm and went for about 2.5 hours.
The musical was performed at Highlands United Church at 3255 Edgemont Boulevard in North Vancouver. Tickets cost $25.
About Highlands United Productions
The group’s 2018 production of the Music Man included a cast of 45 actors, an 8-piece orchestra and more than 100 volunteers.
About the Music Man
Written by Meredith Wilson, the Music Man is a musical about an American con artist named Harold Hill. The show was a Broadway Hit in the late 1950s and won 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical.
In the story, Harold Hill is a con man who, while pretending to be a professor, promises to teach the children of a small town how to play musical instruments that he happens to have for sale. After duping all the parents and collecting his money, he skips town.
The Music Man is a fun and cleverly entertaining musical that’s appropriate for all ages.
