Langley’s Magic of Christmas

Santa Claus in Langley

The Magic of Christmas is a free community event in the City of Langley. It features holiday lights, market vendors, live entertainment, and other activities.

The event returns on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, and once again takes place outside Timms Community Centre from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Admission is free and the event offers entertainment and seasonal fun for all ages.

The Magic of Christmas is just one of several winter holiday-themed events that happen in Langley in December. The biggest ones are the Glow Christmas and Martini Town Merry & Bright, both of which feature beautiful lights and live entertainment. There are also activities happening in Fort Langley, including Bah! Humbug at The Fort.

The Magic of Christmas Festival in Langley

The City of Langley rings in each holiday season with its annual Magic of Christmas Festival. The festival has taken place at Timms Community Centre for the past few years and continues the tradition in 2025. It is open to the public and admission is free.

Langley’s Magic of Christmas Festival typically features community booths, crafts for kids, and live entertainment, including musicians and dancers. This year, Santa is on-site from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm with elves and princesses, for photos (with your own camera). There are also carnival games to play, such as balloon popping and bean bag tossing.

Langley Arts Council hosts an artisan market featuring local makers at the event. Holiday lights are set up to admire around the venue, and food trucks are on site serving tasty treats and meals.

Tips & Advice

The following tips are worth knowing before attending the Magic of Christmas Festival.

TIP #1: Don’t go to the event with a full stomach! Food and drinks are available for purchase. A couple of years back, for example, there was a Beavertails truck serving the iconic Canadian pastry. There’s also a Greater Vancouver Beer Truck serving alcoholic beverages for adults. People can buy beer, wine, cider and seltzer.

TIP #2: Bring a camera or your phone to take free pictures with Christmas characters and Santa.

TIP #3: Arrive early to browse the artisan market before it gets really busy. Don’t forget to dress warmly as the festival takes place completely outdoors, and it can get chilly!

TIP #4: In some years, Breakfast with Santa takes place on the same day as the Magic of Christmas Festival. The event happens at the Douglas Park Community Centre. It includes breakfast, live entertainment, activities and time with Santa. Tickets usually cost about $6 per person.

TIP #5: Parking at the event fills up quickly, and part of the parking lot is reserved for the event. Plan to use nearby parking lots, or consider car pooling.
