The Parade of Lights is a Christmas-themed event with lit-up floats and trucks in Port Coquitlam. In 2025 it celebrates its second year on December 6th.
Parade of Lights in Port Coquitlam
The same as last year, the parade starts at 5:00 pm. It features illuminated vehicles and other parade entries. It finishes with Santa Claus. Also the same as last year, after the parade there is public skating at Port Coquitlam Community Centre as well as free hot chocolate, tasty treats and craft activities at the Terry Fox Library.
Last year the parade started at Port Coquitlam Community Centre. From there it went along Kelly Avenue, then north along Shaughnessy Street. After that it headed east along McAllister Avenue and then south on Mary Hill Road where it finished back at Kelly Avenue. The route in 2025 will likely be the same, but with exact details to be confirmed.
The cost to participate in the parade is $75 for commercial vehicles, $25 for incorporated non-profit organizations, and free for unincorporated entries. It’s also of course free for the general public to watch.
At the event you can expect to see illuminated snowplows, trucks, and entries by local businesses and community organizations, plus maybe even a zamboni (as there was one in the parade last year)!
