The Cloverdale Flea Market is a massive yard-sale-style market at the Cloverdale Rodeo Fairgrounds on Sundays from 6 am until 3 pm in Surrey.
Cloverdale’s Free Sunday Flea Market
Located at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds at 176th Street and 62nd Avenue in Surrey, the Cloverdale Flea Market has been a favourite shopping destination for bargain hunters for 40 years.
The market typically takes place on Sundays from the crack of dawn until 3 pm.
Cloverdale’s market features a couple of hundred vendors and attracts thousands of shoppers. Parts of the market are indoors and parts are outdoors. Up to 200 tables are set up in a couple of different buildings and another 100 or so spots are outside in the parking lot.
Most of what you’ll find there is second-hand, although there are also lots of new things, including products you’d find at a farmers market like fresh produce, flowers and crafts. Items for sale also include everything from second-hand sporting goods to electronics, art, jewellery, clothes, tools, vegetables, plants and everything imaginable.
Admission to the Flea Market
Admission to the Cloverdale Flea Market the last time we went cost $1.50 for shoppers ages 13 and older. Children younger than that are free.
To participate in the market as a vendor, the cost was between about $24 and $26 per day for an indoor table and $28 for an outdoor space as of mid-June 2022.
Tips and Advice
Below are some tips and suggestions to help you make the most out of your flea market shopping experience.
TIP #1: If you like yard sales and shopping for second-hand items, you’ll probably love this place.
TIP #2: If you go when it opens at 6 am you’ll avoid the crowds (and probably have the best chance of finding parking close by). Get there that early though and you’ll find vendors are still setting up and many of them yet to arrive. It’s not until 8 am that all vendors are supposed to have everything all set up.
TIP #3: The Lower Mainland’s other big year-round flea market is the indoor one at 703 Terminal Avenue in Vancouver (not far from Science World). It’s open on both Saturdays and Sundays, plus some holiday Mondays. Click Vancouver Flea Market for details.
