The Real Wild West is FlyOver Canada’s newest film. The multidimensional show debuted in Vancouver in the fall of last year and returns in the spring of 2022.

The film about the western United States had daily show times in November and early December of 2021 at Canada Place in downtown Vancouver. It is scheduled to be back in town between April 21st and June 26th in 2022.

Note: Between April 27th and June 25th in 2023 the special feature film at FlyOver Canada is Windborne: Call of the Canadian Rockies. As its name suggests, it’s a film about the world-famous Rocky Mountains!

The Real Wild West at FlyOver Canada

FlyOver Canada is a special theatre that offers various films at different times of the year. The attraction is especially popular because it isn’t just a regular cinema. It’s a multi-dimensional theatre that activates all the senses. Its shows have moving seats, blowing wind and other immersive features.

We went to see The Real Wild West film when it came out last year, and it was excellent! It’s similar to the FlyOver America film, but with an emphasis on the West Coast, plus states like Arizona, Colorado and Nevada.

The new experience takes guests on a wild ride over a variety of environments in the United States, including lively cities, endless prairies, lush rivers and beautiful valleys. The pre-show includes scenes and information about the history of the region, and the “Old Wild West.” The feature film, however, focuses on what the region looks like today.

Show Times

Like FlyOver Canada’s other seasonal attractions, The Real Wild West airs for a limited amount of time. The new film premiered on November 1st in 2021, with daily screenings throughout the month up until December 5th.

The first show each day last year was at 10:00 am and the last show time was at 9:00 pm. Between these times, shows started every half-hour. We expect details to be similar when the film plays in Vancouver again in 2022.

Admission

Tickets purchased online are usually around 10% or so cheaper than those purchased at the attraction. As of the beginning of October last year, admission cost the following online:

Adults (ages 16+): $23 to $25
Children (ages 15 and under): $13 to $15

Note: Tickets are slightly more expensive at the gate. FlyOver Canada allows everyone over 40 inches (or 102 cm) tall to experience their shows. However, people in wheelchairs must be able to move into the ride’s regular seats for safety reasons. As per provincial orders, proof of vaccination is required from each guest until further notice. Face masks are also required.
