Vancouver Boat Parties at Halloween

A fun way to dance away the night while also taking in the sparkling sights of the city is on a party cruise. Vancouver Boat Parties is one of the top companies in the city for just those sorts of cruises, and they have multiple options for Halloween events.

All of the cruises are on chartered yachts with three decks, two of them indoor and the one on the top open air. There are five different yacht parties happening in 2021. Two of them launch in Coal Harbour by the Westin Bayshore Hotel. The other three depart from False Creek by Pacific Boulevard.

Each cruise can hold a few hundred people in normal years. With the pandemic though, capacity has been reduced to under 200 for each trip. All the parties include top Vancouver DJs, dancing, spooky decorations and people in costumes. It’s not required that you wear a Halloween costume, but it’s encouraged!

Below are details about some of the different cruise options in 2021. We list five sailings in total over the Halloween Weekend of October 29th and 30th.

Halloween Boat Parties

October 29th and 30th, 2021

There are two “classic” Vancouver Boat Party cruises on the Halloween Weekend in 2021. One is on Friday, October 29th, and the other on Saturday, October 30th. They both depart from 1601 Bayshore Drive with the events beginning at 7:30 pm and ending at midnight.

Providing the dance music on the Friday night cruise is DJ Hoopsta and DJ Kitkai. They play a mix of Top 40, Hip-Hop, Mashups, Reggaeton and Throwback. DJ 2Slick and another guest DJ provide the dance music on the Saturday. Music they’ll be playing includes Reggaeton, Top 40, Hip-Hop, Mashups and Throwback.

These parties take place on the Magic Spirit which is advertised as the biggest charter boat in the city. About three hours or so of the scheduled time takes place on the water away from land. The parties begin, however, while still in dock.

The Magic Spirit ordinarily has room for about 385 people. This year though, because of the pandemic, it’s expected to operate at just 50% of its usual capacity.

The least expensive tickets began at $40, although those sold out quickly. Regular admission prices range up to about $100. (TIP: As Halloween Weekend approaches, ticket prices will likely go up, so book your spot sooner rather than later. Also, these cruises often sell out!)

In addition to regular tickets, there are also VIP Passes that you can buy. These cost $280 (in addition to the cost of a regular ticket) and they reserve a table for up to four people. The pass also gives you priority boarding, a bottle of champagne and a dedicated bartender for your group. There is a bar open to all on the cruise and snacks are available for purchase.

Freaky Friday Halloween Boat Party

Friday, October 29th, 2021

As its name implies, this sailing takes place on Friday, October 29th. The night begins at 8:00 pm and runs until midnight. It departs from a dock at 750 Pacific Boulevard. This party’s theme, as well as the themes for the two other cruises below, are new for this year.

Providing the music at this party in 2021 is DJ Incarnate and another guest DJ. They’ll be playing Hip-Hop, Throwback, Mashups, Top 40 and other tunes.

This cruise is hosted on the Burrard Queen. The vessel plans to operate at a 25% reduced capacity this year, so with a maximum of only around 150 passengers. The vessel can normally hold up to about 220 people.

Although the overall duration of the event is a little shorter than some of the other cruises, it still has around three hours out on the water. The pricing is similar to the classic Halloween Party Boat cruises, with the cheapest tickets a little over $40 and the most expensive ones about $95.

Unlike the classic Halloween cruises listed above, there are no VIP Passes for this sailing. There is still a large bar, three levels of dancing and costumed fun to be had.

Lost In Sea Boat Party

Saturday, October 30th, 2021

Also held on the Burrard Queen, this cruise takes place on Saturday, October 30th. It goes from 8:00 pm until midnight. In terms of the venue and timing it’s the same as the Freaky Friday cruise. It also departs from 750 Pacific Boulevard. The main difference is the theme for the event.

There is also a slight difference in the ticket price baseline. The least expensive tickets for this cruise are about $50. The most expensive, again, max out at around $95. There are no VIP Passes for this sailing as well.

At this party DJ Incarnate and DJ Ignite will be playing a mix of Top 40, Throwback, Hip-Hop, Mashups and other genres.
