The Clayton Community Farmers Market is a large bi-weekly artisan market outside Surrey‘s Clayton Heights Secondary School on Sundays between May and October.
Clayton Community Farmers Market
The Clayton Farmers Market celebrates its sixth year in 2023. It’s normally a good-sized market with close to 100 vendors!
Although labeled a farmers market, it’s very much an artisan market. When we went there weren’t many vendors selling fresh produce. There were, however, lots of stalls selling everything from fresh-baked bread and pastries to garden plants, preserves and pet supplies. At the market you can also find handicrafts made of wood, fabric and other products. There are even a small number of food trucks as well.
In addition to artisan vendors, there is also live music at the event. You’ll usually find one or two musicians playing off to the side. Some weekends there are also special events. They usually take place once or twice a month.
Where is the Clayton Market?
The market takes place in the parking lot at Clayton Heights Secondary School. The school’s address is 7003 188th Street in Surrey. It’s near the corner of 188th Street and 70th Avenue, just a few blocks north of the Fraser Highway. It’s about 4 kilometres northwest of the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. Next door to the school is the Clayton Off-Leash Dog Park.
When is the Market?

Clayton Market Video
To get an idea of what the market looks like, check out the following video. It was filmed in May of 2021, so during the height of the pandemic of that year. During normal times there are more vendors, more shoppers and fewer people wearing masks. Also when there isn’t a pandemic, you can walk wherever you want and don’t have to go in a one-directional route.
As you’ll see in the video, it’s a pretty big market. There are stalls selling all kinds of homemade, home-baked and garden-grown products.
