Westin Bayshore Vancouver Hotel
Managed by the US-based Marriott chain of properties, the Westin Bayshore has 465 rooms and is 20 stories tall. There are 34 larger suites and 33 meeting rooms available for reservation as well. The Westin Bayshore is pet-friendly and enforces a strict smoke-free policy.
The 4-star hotel is a luxurious destination with top-of-the-line amenities for tourists and business folks alike. The building has stunning views of Stanley Park, the harbour water and North Shore Mountains. On hot summer days, its outdoor pool area will make you think you’re at a tropical resort (but on a cool day for the tropics)!
Note: In addition to the Westin, Marriott International Inc. also manages Ritz-Carlton, Delta, Sheraton and a number of other hotel brands, including a few elsewhere in Metro Vancouver.
Where is the Westin Bayshore?
The hotel’s address is 1601 Bayshore Drive. The entrance and parking lot can also be accessed via Cardero Street. The hotel is just a block or so from Devonian Harbour Park which connects with the entrance to Stanley Park.
The building is situated along the Coal Harbour waterfront, which is sort of northeast of Vancouver’s West End. The location alone is an amenity of this hotel. The waterfront views are amazing! It’s also close to some of Vancouver’s best tourist attractions.
The edge of world-famous Stanley Park is only a 10-minute walk away. Canada Place is a bit further and in the opposite direction, but the seawall path to get there is along the water and makes for a beautiful walk or cycle. Downtown Vancouver is nearby, and some of Vancouver’s Best Bars and Restaurants aren’t too far away either.
Rooms at the Westin Bayshore
There are over 15 different types of accommodations available at the Westin Bayshore. All bedrooms are nice and most have huge windows that span from the floor to the ceiling. Types of rooms vary in their size and features, such as whether they have a balcony, sofa bed, additional chairs, fancier tables and more. The large International Suite features 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a lounging area, a dining area, a study, and windows that showcase the elevated views of the hotel’s wonderful location.

Westin Bayshore Restaurants
Dining options at the hotel include the H2 Rotisserie & Bar and H Tasting Lounge. The first of the two establishments is known for its use of farm-to-table ingredients and local beers. It serves Ocean Wise Seafood on its menu and has an outdoor patio in the spring, summer and early fall. It also often offers special brunches at Easter and Mother’s Day.
The H Tasting Lounge is a West Coast-style restaurant with a “smart casual” dress code. It’s open from around 3 pm on weekdays and from noon on weekends. 7 days a week it closes at around 10 pm. They serve burgers, salads, seafood, local craft beers and cocktails, among other items.
In addition to the above, there is also T & Co which serves a range of beverages including coffees, teas and smoothies.
At the Waterfront
The Westin Bayshore Hotel is right on the waterfront. The Coal Harbour Seawall is right outside. From the hotel you can see Harbour Air Seaplanes flying into Burrard Inlet. There are also lots of boats in the nearby marinas.
Boats with Harbour Cruises are moored just down the way from the hotel. Right outside, on the hotel’s own docks, is the home port for a number of other tourist-related boat companies too. Pacific Ferries is a tour company based at the hotel. Close by are Whale Watching Boats, including ones with the Prince of Whales tour company.
