Events This Weekend in Vancouver

Highlights of the weekend of November 28th to 30th include Black Friday shopping sales, Harry Potter at Stanley Park, and the Vancouver Historic Half. Lots of winter holiday events and attractions are happening too. In the City of Vancouver, for example, there is the Vancouver Christmas Market, Soar With Santa at Flyover, Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden, and Wesbrook Village Holiday Market at UBC.

Elsewhere in Metro Vancouver, holiday-themed events include the Santa Experience at the Met and Heritage Christmas in Burnaby. In the Tri-Cities there is Lights at Lafarge, Holiday Cheer at the Pier and Christmas in the Square in Port Coquitlam. On the North Shore there is Canyon Lights at Capilano Bridge, the Dundarave Festival of Lights, Shipyards Christmas Market and Spirit of the Season Celebration. There is also both WinterFest at MOS and the Noel Holiday Light Festival in Surrey.

In the Fraser Valley, there is Merry & Bright at Martini Town, Christmas Glow, Lights by the Lake, and Christmas at Greendale Acres. In the Sea-to-Sky region there is the North Pole Express and Toys Thru the Decades at Britannia Mine.

For folks who like theatre, this weekend there is Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley at Metro Theatre as well as shows at The Improv Centre on Granville Island and films at  Flyover at Canada Place. There is also Gunmetal Blues with First Impressions Theatre and Baking Time with Presentation House Theatre in North Vancouver.

Other activities on weekends this time of year include outdoor adventure games with Vancouver Mysteries, walking tours with Forbidden Vancouver and Vancouver Film & TV Tours, and indoor virtual reality games at Zero Latency. There are also ropes courses and ziplines to do at WildPlay Element Park in Maple Ridge.

OTHER UPCOMING EVENTS

Highlights of the weekend of December 5th to 7th include the Bonfire at Deep Cove, Parade of Lights in Port Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge Christmas Festival. There is also Vanier Park’s Winter Market as well as the Santa Experience at the Met which includes the Holiday Hive Market, a Dance Party and Holiday Toy Drive.

A number of shows and concerts happen on the first weekend in December. They include an ABBA Christmas with ABRA Cadabra tribute concert, Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir concerts, the Vancouver Int’l Black Film Festival, and Singing Christmas Tree. There is also Baking Time at Presentation House Theatre, live comedy theatre at The Improv Centre, and multidimensional films at Flyover at Canada Place.

Other events on the weekend of December 5th to 7th include the Christmas Gifts Expo, Timberline Country Christmas,  and Harry Potter: A Forbidden Forest Experience.
