Events This Weekend in Vancouver
Highlights of the weekend of April 10th to 12th include Food Truck Wars in Cloverdale, the Chilliwack Plowing Match, and Shen Yun at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. There are also baseball games with the Vancouver Canadians, an Opening Reception event at Place des Arts, and a Pro D-Day Camp at WildPlay in Maple Ridge.
For folks who like flower festivals, there is Sweet Spring at Greendale Acres, the Magic of Spring at Taves Farm, Harrison Tulip Festival, Sakura Days Japan Fair and Abbotsford Tulip Festival. For fans of snow sports, sadly, this is the final weekend of the season for skiing at Grouse, Cypress and Mt. Seymour.
For folks who want to see a show, there is improvisational theatre at The Improv Centre on Granville Island. At Flyover at Canada Place there are the films Awaken Canada and Beyond Chicago. There is also the play Shakespeare in Love at Metro Theatre in South Vancouver. Laugh Out Live takes place at Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver. There is a Handel’s Messiah a concert in Abbotsford and The Flame at Gateway Theatre in Richmond.
Other things to do this weekend include walking tours with Forbidden Vancouver, games with Vancouver Mysteries, outdoor adventures with WildPlay in Maple Ridge, and indoor virtual reality battles with Zero Latency. There are also lots of great museums to visit including the Chinese Canadian Museum, Vancouver Maritime Museum, Fort Langley, Britannia Mine, Museum of Surrey and many others.

Friday, April 10th, 2026
- Food Truck Wars in Surrey – a massive food truck event featuring dozens of food and artisan vendors as well as live music and a beer garden at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds. It’s the biggest street food competition in BC!
- Shen Yun – a world-famous performing arts production is at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
- Vancouver Canadians Baseball – the team plays against Eugene at Nat Bailey Stadium.
- Opening Reception at PdA – a celebration of four new exhibitions at Place des Arts in Coquitlam.
- Pro D-Day Camp at WildPlay – the adventure park with ropes courses and ziplines in Maple Ridge has a special day camp program as kids in some school districts have today off school.
- Vaisakhi Carnival – amusement rides and a midway outside the Gurdwara Dashmesh Darbar Temple in Surrey.
- Active Spirit Walk & Run – an event with 2 km and 5 km routes starting at the Musqueam Recreation Centre in Vancouver.

- Laugh Out Live – the comedy variety show from Whistler performs at Centennial Theatre in North Vancouver.
- Metro Theatre – the romantic comedy Shakespeare in Love shows at the theatre in South Vancouver.
