Located in Central Surrey, Northview Golf and Country Club is one of Metro Vancouver’s best places for golf. It’s a fancy place!
Northview Golf in Surrey
Northview is home to two championship par 72 golf courses called the Ridge and the Canal. Both courses were designed by Arnold Palmer. The club also has a grass-tee driving range and other great amenities.
The Ridge plays 6900 yards from the most difficult “Palmer-Black” tees. It is the more well-known course of the two, especially because it hosted the PGA Greater Vancouver Open from the 1990’s to the early 2000’s. The Ridge features various elevations, narrow fairways and relatively small greens.
The Canal course, meanwhile, is a links-style course and plays 7101 yards from the tips. It is quite flat and open, with more inviting fairways and larger greens than the Ridge. That being said, the Canal has challenges of its own, including the fact that 15 of its holes have water hazards in play.
The main practice facility at Northview is a grass-tee driving range which is exclusive to players with scheduled tee times. Northview is also the official golf club of the Vancouver Canucks hockey team, and it has a reputation of being one of the best places to golf in Metro Vancouver.
Note: It has been a few years since we have played at this golf course. When we last played there, it was exceptional. We haven’t been back for a while though so we can’t comment on its current state. We assume it is still very well maintained. Hope to confirm that in person though before too long.
Where is Northview?
Northview Golf and Country Club is located at 6857 168th Street in Surrey. It’s just over 3 km northwest of Cloverdale.
To get to Northview from Vancouver, take the Trans-Canada Highway and then exit #50. Follow the signs for 104th Avenue and 160th Street. Turn right onto 160th Street, left onto 96th Avenue and then right once more onto 168th Street. Continue for about 6 kilometres and the entrance will be on your right side.
Note: The golf club has security at its entrance. When we tried to drop by in the fall of 2020 you could only enter the property if you had a tee time.
Northview Golf Rates
Northview’s two courses are priced differently.
In the winter of 2024/2025, golf at the Ridge on Monday to Thursday costs $80. It increases to $95 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Canal course, meanwhile, costs $10 less than the Ridge at any time.
Green fees also vary depending on the time of day. Northview typically offers early bird, early twilight, twilight or sunset specials. (Note: The above prices are subject to change.)
