TIP: From June 11th to July 19th in 2026 there is also the Granville Island Watch Party. It’s a venue with free admission where you can watch the FIFA World Cup soccer games on a giant screen. Other events at Granville Island in July include Bastille Day and the Indian Summer Festival.

Jazz on Granville Island
The Vancouver International Jazz Festival brings jazz, contemporary music and live shows to Vancouver each summer. In 2026, in addition to other places, multiple venues across Granville Island host concerts featuring local, national and international artists performing everything from traditional jazz and soul to experimental and improvised music.
Festival programming includes both pay-what-you-can performances (i.e., by donation) and ticketed events. The series of events allows visitors to enjoy a wide variety of musical experiences. In 2026 the Vancouver International Jazz Festival takes place between June 26th and July 5th. During the festival, several Granville Island venues host performances.
In 2026 festival jazz performances take place at Granville Island at Ocean Artworks, Zameen Art House, Revue Stage and Performance Works. They have happened in other places in the past too, including outdoors by the waterfront behind the Granville Island Public Market (as you’ll see in the photo below). During the festival and throughout the summer, there are also musicians busking in the street.

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival adds to Granville Island’s reputation as one of the region’s premier theatre, entertainment and live music destinations. Festival audiences can enjoy performances at multiple venues within walking distance of one another while exploring the island’s restaurants, shops, galleries and waterfront spaces.
Musical styles range from traditional jazz and big band performances to contemporary improvisation, soul, world music and experimental collaborations. Both casual listeners and dedicated jazz fans can find performances suited to their interests.

The jazz festival’s events take place at four Granville Island venues in 2026. Ocean Artworks hosts programming from June 26th until July 5th. Zameen Art House, Revue Stage and Performance Works, meanwhile, all host live music events from July 1st to July 5th.
Visitors can attend performances throughout the day and evening with some venues offering late-night programming and special festival events.

Zameen Art House
Located at 1515 Anderson Street in the heart of Granville Island, in 2026 Zameen Art House hosts the festival’s Song Form // Less series between July 1st and 5th. The venue features intimate performances showcasing creative collaborations between innovative musicians and improvisers.
Featured performances in 2026 include Caley Watts and Kevin Romain on July 1st, Wendy Eisenberg and Lisa Cay Miller on July 2nd, and Steve Gunn and Karen Ng on July 3rd. There is also Sean Cronin and Patrick Shiroishi on July 4th and Amina Claudine Myers with Peggy Lee on July 5th.
All performances at Zameen Art House are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis in 2026.

Ocean Artworks
In 2026 Ocean Artworks hosts one of the jazz festival’s largest collections of performances. The programming here runs from June 26th until July 5th.
Featured artists in 2026 include Honeybear, the Band on June 26th, SHEBAD on June 27th, Erin Propp on June 28th, and Robin Layne & the Rhythm Makers featuring Kia Kadiri and Yoro Noukoussi on July 1st. There is also Rich Hope on July 2nd, Persian Party on July 4th, and Midnight Boogaloo on July 5th.
Programming at Ocean Artworks spans jazz, soul, indie, experimental and world music. Daytime performances are mostly offered on a pay-what-you-can basis while evening concerts generally require tickets. The venue also hosts the popular 5 Nights in Paradise DJ series and other late-night festival programming.

Revue Stage
In 2026 the Revue Stage features a diverse lineup of experimental jazz, contemporary music, film, live visuals and improvisational performances from July 1st to 5th. The series of events runs from July 1st until July 5th.
Festival highlights at the Revue Stage in 2026 include Immix and the short film Dream, Baby, Dream on July 1st. There is also Steve Gunn’s Music for Writers on July 2nd, Tony Wilson’s Flowers for Albert on July 3rd, Spirits Rejoice: The Music of Louis Moholo-Moholo on July 4th, and Ben Brown & Stefan Christoff on July 5th.
Evening performances feature artists including Fredrik Ljungkvist, Wendy Eisenberg, Patrick Shiroishi, Nick Yacyshyn, Amina Claudine Myers and Qalandar. Special late-night events include TIME FLIES and Improv Karaoke.
Both pay-what-you-can and ticketed performances take place throughout the festival.

Performance Works
Located near Ron Basford Park and the Granville Island Hotel, Performance Works hosts five days of festival programming between July 1st and 5th. Here you’ll find contemporary jazz, large ensembles, soul music and international performers.
Featured concerts in 2026 include the David Blake NYC Quartet, Voodoo: The Music of D’Angelo, the Brad Turner Quartet, Haleluya Hailu Plays Ethiopia directed by Feven Kidane, and the Vancouver Youth Jazz Orchestra. There is also the Stranger Friends Orchestra featuring Fredrik Ljungkvist.
This venue offers a combination of afternoon and evening performances with both pay-what-you-can and ticketed events available throughout the festival.
