Hotel Location

The Fairmont Waterfront is located at 900 Canada Place Way in downtown Vancouver across the street from Canada Place and the Pan Pacific Hotel. It’s also just a block or so from Waterfront Station which is a major transportation hub with connections to the rest of the Lower Mainland.

The hotel’s central location is just a short drive to many of Vancouver’s most popular places of interest including Stanley Park and Robson Street, and a short walk from Granville Street, the Vancouver Convention Centre and Gastown. As well, both Canada Place and the cruise ship terminal are located directly across the street from the hotel. The seaplane terminal for Harbour Air is also less than a 10-minute walk away.

The hotel’s location is convenient as it is close to several of Vancouver’s main public transportation hubs. Both the SeaBus and the SkyTrain are found at Waterfront Station, which is just a block from the hotel. From there, guests can connect to the Vancouver Airport, the North Shore and the rest of Metro Vancouver.

Dining at the Fairmont

The main restaurant at the Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver is called ARC. It is both a restaurant and a bar, with a separate dining room and lounge area. The restaurant focuses on local and sustainable food as well as simple dishes. The dishes served at ARC even use herbs, fresh produce and honey from the third-floor rooftop garden!

In addition to ARC, the Fairmont offers 24-hour in-room dining to hotel guests. On special occasions, like Easter and Mother’s Day, the ARC Restaurant also offers one of Vancouver’s best brunch buffets.

Fairmont Green Hotel Initiatives

At the Fairmont Waterfront Vancouver, the third floor rooftop contains a garden and apiary. The area is over 2,000 square feet and provides the ARC Restaurant with fresh herbs, veggies and fruit. Over 20 varieties of produce are grown including hay that’s harvested and used to smoke chicken in-house. Interestingly, the rooftop garden was even designated as a Certified Wildlife Habitat in 2016 by the Canadian Wildlife Federation.

The rooftop garden and apiary at the Fairmont Waterfront has over a quarter of a million honeybees within six hives. These hives provide honey for the kitchens and also help pollinate the hotel’s herb garden. There is even an observation hive for hotel guests to safely get close enough to observe the bees.

The Fairmont Waterfront is focused on local and sustainable food in its restaurant, ARC. The restaurant is also an original member of the Ocean Wise Seafood program which helps verify that seafood is sustainable and ocean-friendly.

In addition to the hotel’s other green initiatives, the Fairmont Waterfront is also on track to becoming Zero Waste. It participates in a food recovery program, and it engages with a number of community partnerships.
