The West Coast Christmas Craft Show is a trade show-style artisan market at the Tradex Centre in Abbotsford on the weekend of November 15-17 in 2019.
It’s put on by Executive Events Productions Inc. and general admission costs $10.
Abbotsford Christmas Markets
A number of holiday craft fairs and Christmas markets take place in Abbotsford each year. A couple of really good ones include the Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market and the Kickoff to Christmas Makers Market.
What makes these other markets different from the West Coast Christmas Show? The Olde Farmhouse features antiques, collectibles and items you might have found in a farmhouse a few generations ago. So much of what you’ll see are artisan products, but ones made in the last century or earlier. It’s a great event and fun to see.
The Kickoff to Christmas Makers Market is similar to the West Coast Christmas Show in that it features well over a hundred artisan vendors. The Kickoff to Christmas Makers Market, however, takes place in the Ag Rec Building at Abbotsford Exhibition Park, so not at Tradex. It’s also organized by a collective of artists, so run by volunteers, and admission is $4 or less (of which all proceeds are donated to charity – which is awesome)! Parking for the Kickoff event is also free.
GLOW ABBOTSFORD OPENS ON DECEMBER 5TH!
Last year one of the Lower Mainland’s largest and most popular winter holiday attractions was Glow Christmas in Langley. This year, in 2019, the event takes place in two new venues. One is at the Tradex Centre in Abbotsford (from December 5th until January 4th, 2020) and the other is in downtown Vancouver (from November 21st until January 5th).
Both Glow events feature Christmas lights, holiday displays and a wide range of family-friendly activities and things to see. At the event in Abbotsford there is also a great artisan market.
Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market
The Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market takes place on the weekend of November 23 and 24 in 2019. The same as the West Coast Christmas Craft Show, it also happens at the Tradex Centre which is located beside the Abbotsford Airport at 1190 Cornell Street.
What makes the Olde Farmhouse special is that it features antiques and vintage goods. Over a hundred vendors participate and thousands of shoppers attend. It’s one of the Lower Mainland’s best events for finding unique gifts for hard-to-buy-for people.
Admission to the Olde Farmhouse Vintage Market is $7 for one day or $9 for both days. Children ages 12 and under are free.

Kickoff to Christmas Makers Market
The Kickoff to Christmas Makers Market is an impressive artisan market featuring local artisans and crafts people. It happens on the Friday and Saturday of November 29 and 30 at Abbotsford’s Ag Rec Building at 32470 Haida Drive. Over 140 artisan vendors participate, which makes it one of the Lower Mainland’s largest Christmas craft fairs.
Admission to the market costs $4 in advance for people ages 13 and older, or $5 at the door. Kids under age 12 are free. Instead of paying for admission though, if you donate a toy to the Abbotsford Christmas Bureau they’ll let you in for free.
On the Friday evening there is a bar serving both adults-only and kid-friendly drinks. On the Saturday morning there is a pancake breakfast with Santa.
The Kickoff to Christmas Makers Market is a fabulous event and proceeds from both admission to the market and the breakfast with Santa activity benefit a local charity that gives Christmas presents to underprivileged children in the Abbotsford area. So if you do your holiday shopping at this market you’ll find high-quality handmade goods while supporting both local artisans and a charitable cause at the same time. It’s a win-win-win!
West Coast Christmas Show & Artisan Market
The West Coast Christmas Show is also a pretty good event. It’s a big production and takes place at the Tradex Centre at 1190 Cornell Street in Abbotsford (which is right beside the Abbotsford Airport).
The trade show happens on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of November 15 to 17 in 2019. Hours of operation are from 1:00 to 9:00 pm on the Friday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on the Saturday, and from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on the Sunday.
Admission to the West Coast Christmas Show is $10 for adults and $9 for seniors, so slightly more than most other holiday markets in the Lower Mainland. If you’re in the Abbotsford area on the weekend of November 15th to 17th and you like Christmas shopping and artisan markets, it’s worth checking out. We went a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.
