The Chilliwack Rotary Christmas Parade is a community event with floats, marching bands and Santa on a Saturday in early December in downtown Chilliwack.
Chilliwack Rotary Christmas Parade
The Chilliwack Rotary Christmas Parade takes place on Saturday, December 2nd in 2023. Additional details about this year’s event are to be confirmed. The parade usually begins at 5:30 pm at Spadina Avenue and is both free and family-friendly.
Parade Route
Exact details about the 2023 parade are to be confirmed.
The parade route normally follows a loop around downtown Chilliwack. It typically starts and ends on Spadina Avenue, close to Stanley Street. From Spadina Avenue the parade turns left on Corbould Street then right on Wellington Avenue. After a while, it turns right on Yale Road, then takes an almost immediate right onto Princess Avenue. After following the road for a couple blocks the parade turns left on Mary Street and finally takes a right turn back onto Spadina Avenue.
Event Details
BC Transit usually provides free bus transit on the day of the parade. This may or may not be the case in 2023. In years when it’s offered, the free transit is available all day so there’s no need to worry about parking or traffic!
There’s a variety of floats and interesting things to see in the parade. Most (if not all) of the vehicles have Christmas lights, some have other decorations, and some even have live bands playing on them. There’s lots of big trucks and a variety of collectible cars as well. As a bonus, some even give out candy!
