The following movies in 2018 all start at dusk unless otherwise stated and the list is in chronological order.

July 3 (Tuesday) Movie

  • Stanley Park Summer CinemaThe Princess Bride (1987) shows for free on one of the largest outdoor screens in the Lower Mainland.

July 4 (Wednesday) Movie

  • Starlight Theatre at Lansdowne Centre – the musical The Greatest Showman about the circus and starring Hugh Jackman shows in Richmond. Watch from your car or your lawn chair!
  • Chicken Run – shows indoors at UBC’s Wesbrook Welcome Centre at 4:30 pm. Movie, popcorn and juice are all free!
  • Summer Movie Nights in the Square – the movie Ghostbusters shows in the plaza outside the Vancouver Art Gallery on Georgia Street.

  • Space Jam – the film shows at dusk at Westminster Pier Park at 1 Sixth Street in New Westminster as part of the Outdoor Summer Movie Nights series.
  • Outdoor Movie Nights in Cloverdalethe Boss Baby shows at Surrey’s Katzie Elementary School at 6887 194A Street.

July 14 (Saturday) Movie

  • Sandlot – the 1993 American film about coming of age shows at dusk at the Centennial Park Ball Diamond at Mill Lake Park in Abbotsford.

August 1 (Wednesday) Movie

  • Starlight Theatre at Lansdowne CentreThe Notebook shows in Richmond. Watch from your car or your lawn chair!
  • Three Amigos – the comedy film starring Chevy Chase, Martin Short and Steve Martin shows at dusk in the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza at 650 Hamilton Street.
  • The Little Prince – shows indoors at UBC’s Wesbrook Welcome Centre at 4:30 pm. Movie, popcorn and juice are all free!
  • Summer Movie Nights in the Square – the film Moulin Rouge shows in the plaza outside the Vancouver Art Gallery on Georgia Street.

August 2 (Thursday) Movie

  • Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place – a free movie at the northern end of the Canada Place promenade. Today’s feature show is a sing-along version of Mama Mia (so lots of fun for ABBA fans).

  • Summer Movie Nights in the Square – the film Notting Hill shows in the plaza outside the Vancouver Art Gallery on Georgia Street.

  • My Fair Lady (1964) – showing at John Lawson Park in West Vancouver as part of the Harmony Arts Festival.
  • Waterfront Cinema at Canada Place – a free movie at the northern end of the Canada Place promenade. Today’s feature film is Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle starring Dwayne Johnson.
  • Burnaby Outdoor Movie Series – The Lion King shows outdoors at the Bob Prittie Library by Metrotown at 6100 Willingdon Avenue at around 8:30 pm.
