Some years (but not in 2024) there is also a Canada Day event at Douglas Park in the City of Langley (which is actually a different municipality).

Canada Day in the Township of Langley

In 2024 there were free activities from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at McLeod Athletic Park. There was also an event at Willoughby Community Park from 8:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Last year there were also Canada Day festivities at Aldergrove Athletic Park. This year in Aldergrove, there was likely a smaller event at the Royal Canadian Legion at 26607 Fraser Highway between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Exact details about that event, however, were to be confirmed.

In addition to the above July 1st festivities at various locations in the Township of Langley, other Canada Day celebrations take place in Fort Langley. Another major event happens there later in the month too. The Fort Langley Jazz & Arts Festival took place from July 25th to 28th in 2024. If you like Jazz, you’ll want to attend this event next year! It includes both ticketed and free concerts.

Canada Day Event Activities

The Canada Day events in Langley are a good way to connect with others in the community. There are various activities for all to enjoy throughout the day.

On July 1st, 2024, festivities began at McLeod Athletic Park which is located at 5730 58th Avenue. Then, there was evening entertainment at Willoughby Community Park at 7755 202A Street. The night ended with a Drone Light Show.

Families at the event at McLeod Athletic Park can play mini golf and other fun games most years. There are arts and crafts and bouncy castles for younger kids as well. Expect to see local breweries selling drinks for adults. People can visit exhibitor booths and purchase snacks and meals from various food trucks on site.

In previous years, there were also fireworks at night. However, in 2024, a new drone show took place at Willoughby Community Park instead.
