Highlands United Productions is a North Vancouver theatre group that puts on a play once every two years. In March 2020 it’s the musical Anything Goes.
ANYTHING GOES IS CANCELLED!
Due to concerns about the novel coronavirus, the 2020 musical production of Anything Goes at Highlands United has unfortunately been cancelled.

Anything Goes at Highlands United in 2020
Highlands United Productions is an exceptional community theatre group and Anything Goes is a wonderful Broadway musical. Those two factors combined make Highlands United Church the place to be the week of March 18th to 22nd, 2020, when the play is on. Make sure you get your tickets quickly as they almost always sell out!
This musical is directed by Doug and Gillian Irwin who also directed the organization’s past musicals including Fiddler on the Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Music Man and Godspell.
Although Highlands United Productions is a North Shore-based theatre group, its actors are from across the Lower Mainland including sometimes from as far away as Langley, Maple Ridge and Richmond. Also, despite being produced by a “church-affiliated” organization, the quality of the performances is as high as those of any of Vancouver’s professional theatre companies. We’ve attended a couple of their shows and have been both thoroughly entertained and impressed!
If you want to see this show, get your tickets as soon as you can. It’s highly recommended, they sell fast and the best seats go first!

About the Musical Anything Goes
Anything Goes was written in 1934 and is based on the book by Guy Bolton and P.G. Woodhouse with the lyrics and music written by Cole Porter. The play has won five Tony awards including best choreography, best actress and best revival of a musical.
The story takes place on an ocean-liner traveling to London from New York. A stowaway named Billy Crocker is in love with an heiress aboard the ship and enlists the help of some unlikely friends to try to win her over.
Anything Goes is an entertaining, romantic and adventurous show that is sure to get your feet tapping along with the actors during their outstanding tap dance numbers. The play is appropriate for all ages but it is suggested that children be at least 6 years old.
Famous songs from the musical include “I get a Kick Out of you,” “It’s De lovely” and the title song “Anything Goes.”
