Richmond Halloween Fireworks Festival
Richmond is one of the few municipalities in the Lower Mainland that hosts free fireworks displays on Halloween night. The big and impressive event happens at Minoru Park (7191 Granville Avenue).
The City of Richmond Fireworks Festival returned on Halloween night, Friday, October 31st last year from 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm. The free, all-ages event typically features live performances, carnival-style games, a themed funhouse maze, food trucks, and a fireworks finale at 9:00 pm.
Minoru Park Fireworks Night
Richmond celebrates Halloween night at Minoru Park with a free event each year. Last year’s theme was “Creepy Carnival,” with a whole evening of family-friendly entertainment. Highlights usually include acrobats, jugglers, fire performers and stilt walkers. Guests can enjoy face painting, meet real ghost hunters from Cornerstone Supernatural, watch a live pumpkin carving, or try to find their way through the inflatable funhouse maze.
Over 10,000 pieces of candy and chocolate bars were handed out to trick-or-treaters last year. Food trucks at the event typically include favourites like Greek food, burgers, and mini donuts.

In 2026 the Halloween Fireworks Festival happens on Saturday, October 31st, from 6:30 pm to 9:15 pm. The fireworks begin at 9:00 pm. Admission is free.

TIP #1: The Richmond-Brighouse SkyTrain Station is a convenient 10-minute walk away from the park. Take public transit if possible, but be prepared for crowds when you leave.
TIP #2: If you’re driving to the event, arrive early to secure one of the best parking spots. There’s limited parking available at the park, but additional spaces are available in the south parkade at Richmond Centre.
TIP #3: It’s better to leave pets safely at home, as fireworks can be terrifying for animals.
TIP #4: Costumes are encouraged for the event. Last year’s theme, “Creepy Carnival,” made it a great night to dress up and get spooky!
