Believe Chicago at FlyOver at Canada Place
Believe Chicago is the newest addition to the FlyOver film series. Chicago opened its own FlyOver location in 2024, and a new film about the city was created to accompany it. In addition to Chicago, other places with FlyOver theatres are Vancouver, Las Vegas and Iceland.
The new Chicago-centric experience is one of three FlyOver films currently in rotation that are set in the United States. It’s also the only one of the three that is set in the eastern half of the country.
Other American films include Hawaii From Above (which shows from early January until around mid-March in 2025) and Wonders of the America West (which last showed in the spring of 2024). There also used to be FlyOver America, which took people on a journey all across the United States (including Chicago), but that film hasn’t shown in Vancouver since 2018. It might return one day, but we’re not sure.
Showtimes and Admission
In 2025 Believe Chicago makes its Canadian debut in Vancouver between March 13th and June 16th (although the exact dates could change).
Prices for FlyOver shows depend on when and how you buy your tickets. Admission is cheaper when you buy them in advance online.
If you reserve your spot a couple weeks before you go then it costs around $29 per person (as of December 2024). If you buy your tickets on the same day that you go, or in-person at Canada Place, then they can cost around $37. Exact prices, however, may vary. BC residents also get an extra discount.
FlyOver usually has its first show at 10:00 am each day in the late fall, winter and spring seasons. The final film concludes sometime between 7:00 pm and 9:30 pm depending on the time of year. The closing time in the spring (when Believe Chicago plays in 2025) will likely be around 8:00 pm.

What to Expect at FlyOver’s Believe Chicago
Like the other FlyOver shows, Believe Chicago begins with a pre-show film that gives some context to what you’re about to watch. After that first screening guests walk down a hallway and up some stairs to the main theatre where they are strapped into a seat, similar to being on an amusement park ride. (Note: There is an elevator lift for people who need it.)
The lights go out when the show begins and, when they’re turned back on, the floor is gone and all that’s left is the giant theatre screen. The Believe Chicago film runs for just under 10 minutes and is a four-dimensional experience that includes seat movements and bursts of wind and mist to give you the feeling that you’re truly flying over the city.
What makes Believe Chicago different from other, previous FlyOver films is how the footage was shot. The filmmakers shot everything on a drone rather than using a helicopter, which allows for more dynamic and thrilling ways to use the camera. You can expect to fly straight up and through buildings and whisk past people and other objects quite closely.
The film gives an aerial view of all of Chicago’s major landmarks. If you’ve never been to Chicago, or if you have and love the city, then this film is a great way to experience it!
