Love Lights Valentine’s Day Attraction at Capilano Suspension Bridge

Love Lights at Capilano Bridge

Love Lights is a Valentines-themed attraction at Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver. It features romantic illuminations and decorations in February.

In 2024 Love Lights ran from February 2nd to 25th (which included both Valentine’s Day and the Family Day Long Weekend). It’s an impressive attraction and highly recommended (for couples on romantic dates, but also for groups of friends and young families). The attraction is also open as usual during the day.

NOTE: Capilano Suspension Bridge has a new event in the spring of 2024, just in time for Easter and the Spring Break holidays! Hoppy Heights happens between March 16th and April 1st. During those 17 days, the attraction is decorated with Easter eggs and other displays. There are also craft activities for children. The cost for the “Spring Break Adventures” is free for people with annual passes and general admission for the day.

For tickets and full details about the event, see the Capilano Suspension Bridge website.

Valentine’s Illuminations at Capilano Bridge’s Love Lights Event

Love Lights is very similar to Canyon Lights at Capilano Bridge over the winter holiday season. The main differences are that the illuminations in February are more pink than red and green, and there are lots of hearts instead of Christmas characters and symbols. The music is also equally beautiful, but different (as one would expect).

We went to Love Lights last year and were very impressed. Canyon Lights is one of our absolute favourite Christmas attractions, and Love Lights seems to have almost as many decorations and illuminations. The place looks spectacular! The lights and displays are beautiful, tasteful and fun!

What to Expect at Love Lights

Expect to see lots of beautiful light displays and illuminations at Love Lights at Capilano Bridge. If you like beautiful scenery and taking selfies and cute photos, you’ll love this place!

During the day, the attraction looks much like it does at other times of the year, but with heart decorations and other displays scattered around the property. It’s a world-class tourist destination with spectacular views, a suspension bridge across the canyon and paths and bridges in the forest.

At night, Love Lights is similar to Canyon Lights at Christmas where the park gets lit up at night with holiday displays and illuminations. At Love Lights you’ll see many of the same sights, but with more pink lights as well as hearts instead of candy canes, elves and Santa characters. You’ll still see a couple of Christmas trees at Love Lights, but not nearly as many as during the winter holiday season.

To learn more about what you can expect to see at the attraction in general, throughout the year, see our main article about Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Suggestions and Things to Think About

Below are some tips regarding admission tickets and your visit to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.

Things to Know About Admission

TIP #1: Residents of BC can get an annual pass for the same price as a single day ticket. If you live in British Columbia (and have BC ID), you can buy your annual pass online or at the gate. If you have already purchased your single-day ticket, you can also upgrade it to an annual pass on the day of your visit.

TIP #2: If you live in Metro Vancouver, we highly recommend you buy the annual pass. Having one means you can go back to Capilano Bridge as much as you like, including when they have other special attractions like Canyon Frights at Halloween and Canyon Lights at Christmas.

TIP #3: Love Lights is a phenomenal place to go on a date. Although a fabulously romantic destination, however, it’s not just for couples. It’s great for families and groups of friends too!

TIP #4: Weekdays are good times to go because the attraction is less crowded then (except on Valentine’s Day and the Family Day holiday Monday). On weekends, however, there is often live music as well as Birds of Prey shows at Raptors Ridge.

TIP #5: Hot chocolate at the park costs about $6 and it’s really good. If you get it at the restaurant it costs a couple of dollars more. It’s worth the extra, though, in our opinion, especially if you can find a spot out on the patio by one of the fires to enjoy it. The hot chocolate we had there was delicious (especially as it came with chocolate syrup, cream and marshmallows). It was quite decadent!

Love Lights Video

For an idea of what to expect at Love Lights, check out the following video. It shows scenes of the attraction from our visit in 2023.

In the video you’ll see the park’s entrance area, Trading Post gift shop building, the Cliffwalk, and world-famous suspension bridge. You’ll also see the pond area with its beautiful lights as well as the amazing bridges through the trees. Also in the video is a scene of us enjoying delicious hot chocolates outside on the patio at the Cliff House Restaurant.
