Vancouver Mysteries Suite 1313

Suite 1313 with Vancouver Mysteries

Vancouver Mysteries‘ Suite 1313 is a Halloween experience featuring food, a murder mystery, and escape room-style challenges at the Delta Hotel near Gastown.

For full details about Suite 1313, as well as other experiential games hosted by the same organization, see the VancouverMysteries.com website.

Note: Another, related event is Castle Confidential. It too is a murder mystery that happens at a hotel, and also only in October. It’s an extra fancy affair that includes a cocktail reception on the 14th floor of the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel. The experience only happens on a couple of nights, which this year are October 22nd and 23rd. For details about this other event, click Castle Confidential 2026.

Suite 1313 Game at Halloween

Hosted by Vancouver Mysteries, Suite 1313 is a special edition of the game company’s collaborative murder-mystery experience,  The Case of the Hotel Detective. Both games are set inside a real hotel room at the Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites.

The regular detective game is played at a table in the hotel’s lobby year-round (or elsewhere with its portable version). The Suite 1313 experience, meanwhile, takes place in a hotel room on the 13th floor, and only during the Halloween season. Both games challenge participants to collect evidence, solve puzzles and identify a killer.

The Suite 1313 mystery is designed for groups of between four and ten players, with a detective from Vancouver Mysteries providing instructions and helping participants with clues. After the game, guests can enjoy a dining experience at Stock & Supply, the hotel’s restaurant. The activity includes a shared stock board as well as one drink per person.

OTHER VANCOUVER MYSTERIES’ GAMES

Suite 1313 is one of a number of Vancouver Mysteries’ activities that happen during the Halloween season in October. Another game that’s sort of similar is Castle Confidential. It too is played at a hotel, but in this case at a luxurious, castle-like one.

Castle Confidential is an extra fancy affair that includes a cocktail reception on the 14th floor of the Fairmont Vancouver Hotel, a floor which is rumoured to be haunted! Different from the Suite 1313 experience, Castle Confidential involves a much larger group of participants, and it only happens on a couple of nights, which in 2026 are October 22nd and 23rd. For details about the game at the Fairmont, click Castle Confidential 2026.

Other Halloween Mystery Nights adventures include Halloween editions of Crime in Downtown, Secret Mission, Heroes & Villains and Ghost Patrol, all of which are outdoor adventure games. Indoor games for two or more people, meanwhile, include The Legend of the Gastown Gold and The Case of the Hotel Detective.

Where and When is Suite 1313

In 2026 the Suite 1313 game takes place from October 8th to 31st at the Delta Hotels Vancouver Downtown Suites in downtown Vancouver. Experiences are scheduled daily at 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm, with some blackout times and dates.

The hotel’s address is 550 West Hastings Street. It’s near Gastown, not far from the SFU Harbour Centre and Vancouver Lookout. It’s also just a short distance from the SkyTrains and SeaBus at Waterfront Station. With the game, guests meet their detective in the hotel lobby before heading to Suite 1313 on the thirteenth floor.

The experience is for guests ages 19 and older, although minors can participate in private bookings. A minimum of two guests is required per booking, and at least four guests must be booked into a time slot for the experience to run. Groups can have up to eight participants. Private bookings, meanwhile, are available for up to ten people.

What to Expect at Suite 1313

The experience begins when a Vancouver Mysteries detective meets guests in the hotel lobby and takes them to Suite 1313 where a murder has taken place. Participants have 90 minutes to investigate the room, collect evidence, solve challenges and catch the killer. The detective stays with the group to introduce the mystery and provide hints if anyone gets stuck.

The “Thirteen Club Mystery” is a collaborative game with escape room-style challenges, created specifically for the Suite 1313 experience. Guests may be grouped with other people who have booked the same time slot unless they arrange a private booking.

Once the mystery is solved, or the 90-minute time limit ends, the experience continues at Stock & Supply, the restaurant on the hotel’s main floor. The dining portion includes a stock board to share between two people and one drink per guest. (Additional food and drinks can, of course, also be purchased.)

The Stock & Supply restaurant focuses on Pacific Northwest cuisine with locally-sourced options and a beverage menu featuring local products. We’ve had the stock board there before and were very impressed. It’s a charcuterie-style board with all kinds of delicious, cured meats, cheeses and other delicacies.

At the event, guests should allow at least 2.5 hours for the full experience including the mystery and dining portion. Food and drinks are not permitted inside the Suite 1313 hotel room, just in the restaurant afterwards. Participants are also asked to be considerate of other hotel guests (so no screaming, nor yelling “murder”, or doing other things that might either terrify nearby non-players or annoy them unnecessarily).

About Vancouver Mysteries

Vancouver Mysteries is a locally-owned entertainment business that has been operating since 2014. The company offers interactive mystery games, murder mysteries, role-playing games, drag theatre shows, and team-building experiences in Vancouver.

Suite 1313 is a limited-time version of the company’s regular The Case of the Hotel Detective game, but available only during October (and in the special Suite 1313 room). After Halloween, the regular mystery game returns to the hotel’s lobby lounge where it is played at a table rather than in a hotel room. You can play it year-round, and it’s a lot of fun. They also have a portable version of the game which you can play anywhere in the city and nearby municipalities, including in your own home.

Other Vancouver Mysteries’ Games

Other games and activities hosted by Vancouver Mysteries are listed below. In most cases they are for adults and older youth, although Heroes & Villains is also suitable for younger children to play with their parents and adult friends.

  • The Case of the Hotel Detective – the murder mystery game that’s similar to Suite 1313, but that you play at a table.
  • The Legend of the Gastown Gold – a game that’s also sort of similar to The Case of the Hotel Detective experience, in that it’s an escape room-style game played in the lobby of the Delta Hotel. Instead of being about a modern-day murder, however, it involves solving the mystery of some long lost gold!
  • Crime in Downtown – one of four outdoor adventure games which are like a combination of a scavenger hunt and an escape room experience. In this case, you and your group are detectives trying to solve a murder.
  • Secret Mission – the second in the series of outdoor adventure games, where you play it along the streets and sidewalks of downtown Vancouver. In this case you and your team are secret agents on a mission to save the world.
  • Heroes & Villains – a third outdoor escape room-style adventure where you use your superhero powers to find clues and solve riddles on your quest to capture the evil Muck Monster. (Note: This game is the easiest of all the games. It has a family-friendly version that can be played with younger kids too.)
  • Ghost Patrol – the fourth in the series of outdoor adventure games. In this edition, you and your teammates are ghost hunters looking for ghouls, kind of like in the movie Ghostbusters (although you don’t drive around in a souped-up ambulance-like vehicle, nor have real ghost-hunting guns).
  • Murder is a Drag – a series of murder-mystery shows with performers dressed in drag. It takes place about once a month and it’s hilarious.
  • Castle Confidential – a fancy, murder-mystery game that includes a cocktail reception on the 14th floor of the iconic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver in October. (For details about this activity, click Castle Confidential 2026.)
