Moxies is an upscale, casual, West Coast-style chain restaurant with locations in Langley, Richmond and on West Georgia Street in downtown Vancouver.
Since its first restaurant in Calgary in 1986, Moxies has grown to now have five dozen locations across North America including ones in eight provinces and five US states.
Moxies Restaurant on West Georgia Street
Moxies is a stylish smart-casual chain restaurant. Its location in downtown Vancouver is close to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and attached to the Sandman Hotel. The West Georgia location also has an outdoor terrace that’s great on summer evenings, especially during happy hour.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks. The Vancouver location is a convenient option before theatre shows, for business meals, or relaxed dinners with friends and dates.
The West Georgia Street Moxies reopened in summer 2023 after it underwent renovations. At the time of writing, the West Georgia Street location is the only Moxie’s in downtown Vancouver. Until late 2024, there was another Moxies at the Sandman Hotel on Davie Street in the West End. That location was smaller and less modern.
After its renovations, Moxies on West Georgia Street became one of the restaurant chain’s signature locations. It’s a bit fancier than the other Metro Vancouver locations in Langley and Richmond.
The interior of the Vancouver restaurant is trendy and spacious, with many booths and tables, seating up to 300 guests. Decor includes a pink neon sign in the main dining area saying, “I will if you will”, which serves as a big centerpiece good for photo opportunities.

Moxies Vancouver Location and Hours
Moxies is located at 180 West Georgia Street in Downtown Vancouver. The restaurant is attached to the Sandman Hotel and is across the street from the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. It’s a convenient spot to eat at before or after a theatre show. It’s also within walking distance of BC Place and Rogers Arena.
The Vancouver restaurant is open Sundays to Thursdays from 7:00 am to 12:00 am, and Fridays and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 1:00 am. Brunch is available Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, and on weekends from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
There are two other Moxies locations in Metro Vancouver, including Richmond and Langley.
LOOKING FOR ITALIAN?
Not far from Moxies’s location on West Georgia, there is Tutto which is a great Italian restaurant in Yaletown. It’s less than a 10-minute walk away at 901 Homer Street. It too is highly recommended.
What Is on the Menu at Moxies?
Moxie’s menu focuses on comfort food with global influences. There are 50-plus items on their menu, so there is usually something for everyone. Starters include sushi rolls, calamari, truffle fries, mini tacos, and more.
The mains include classic burgers, various healthy bowls, pastas, and steaks. As of the last time we checked, most mains are priced in the $20 to $30 range. Steak costs from around $40 to $60. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available at Moxies. These include plant-based burgers, tofu curry, black bean tacos, and grain bowls.
Desserts include sticky toffee pudding and other classic options, typically priced from around $12 to $14.

Specials and Happy Hours at Moxies
Happy Hour at Moxies features discounted food and drinks. It happens daily from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm and again from 9:00 pm until close. Drink specials include discounted highballs, beer, wine and cocktails. Half-price wine bottles are also available on select nights. Food specials on the happy hour menu include tacos, fries, and calamari.
Seasonal menus are offered throughout the year at Moxies, including special features for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and the Dine Out Vancouver Festival.
The Outdoor Terrace
Moxies has a large rectangular outdoor rooftop terrace overlooking West Georgia Street. The terrace is partially covered and heated, so it can operate year-round on milder days. In the summer, it’s a popular after-work spot with sunny and shaded seating. Sometimes, Moxies arranges guest DJs for special events on the terrace.
OTHER DOWNTOWN RESTAURANTS
Other restaurants you might like include the P2B Bistro at the Pinnacle Harbourfront Hotel and both the H2 Kitchen and H Tasting Lounge at the Westin Bayshore Hotel. They are also all in downtown Vancouver, but in the Coal Harbour neighbourhood.
What to Expect at Moxies
Moxies in Vancouver is part of the Sandman Hotel. Upon arrival, guests take an escalator up to the first floor and follow a corridor past the hotel gym to meet the restaurant’s host. Moxie’s restaurant has multiple areas, including the rooftop and a big dining area up a couple of steps. The restaurant has an open concept, which makes it feel social. There is a bar and lounge area with TVs, as Moxies shows live sports.
Moxies attracts a mix of younger adults, business travellers, theatregoers, and those looking for casual food and drinks. Guests can expect to see groups of friends, couples on dates, families, and hotel guests.
Food-wise, Moxies offers consistent quality and generous portion sizes. Prices at Moxies are mid- to upper-range, similar to those at chain restaurants like Earl’s, Browns, and Cactus Club. For more affordable pricing, visiting Moxie’s during happy hour is a good way to experience the restaurant.
Reservations are recommended on weekends and before large events at nearby venues, such as the theatre and stadium. You can book through OpenTable and the Moxies website.

Our Experience at Moxies
We visited Moxies most recently during the Dine Out Vancouver Festival and had a great experience. The staff were attentive and friendly, and service was smooth throughout the meal.
The Dine Out menu cost $45 per person for three courses, which we felt was very good value. There were three appetizer choices and four mains, including a vegetarian option and the option to upgrade to a steak. Our favourite starters were the tiny tuna tacos and the cashew chili chicken. For mains, we especially enjoyed the Chipotle mango chicken and the mushroom Zen bowl. All the dishes we tried were delicious, nicely presented, and generously portioned. The items we tried are also available on the regular menu.
The dine-out festival menu also featured drink specials, including $5 espresso martinis and half-price bottles of wine, which was a great treat. We enjoyed the setting, finding it stylish and trendy. Moxies is great for casual evenings, nights out with friends, or dates and business dinners. We look forward to visiting Moxies again, especially in summer, to sit on the rooftop terrace!
