The Mission Community Block Party is a food truck festival on a weekend in June with live entertainment, market vendors and more at Fraser River Heritage Park.
Note: The Mission Community Block Party isn’t happening in 2024. In it’s place, however, is something even better! Mission Ribfest takes place on the BC Day Long Weekend, on August 2nd to August 5th.
See the greatervanfoodtruckfest.com for full details about the event.
Mission Community Block Party
The Mission Community Block Party is one of several Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival events. In 2023 the series also includes the Surrey Community Block Party, which happened on June 3rd and 4th and Chilliwack RibFest, which happened on July 28th, 29th and 30th. Last year the event in Mission happened on the last weekend of June.
Admission to the Mission Block Party is free. It was a busy and lively event, considering that it was the first Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival to happen in Mission in the last five years!

Event Dates and Location
The Mission Community Block Party took place on the weekend of June 24th and 25th in 2023. The event ran from 11:00 am until 8:00 pm on the Saturday and from 11:00 am until 7:00 pm on the Sunday.
The date for the event in future years is to be confirmed.
In years when it happens, the event takes place at Fraser River Heritage Park. The venue is located at 7494 Mary Street in Mission. Fraser River Heritage Park is also where Old Car Sunday in the Park takes place in June, and the city’s annual Canada Day Celebrations and Mission Folk Music Festival happen in July.
What to Expect
The Mission Community Block Party is a family-friendly event. Expect to see lots of vendor stalls and people of all ages enjoying food from around 20 food trucks. There is food from a variety of different cultures to explore.
Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival events usually have a tented area with seating. This was likely the case in Mission (although exact details were to be confirmed). As the event is at a big park, people might bring their own blankets or lawn chairs and sit on the grass as well. The Mission Block Party also features live entertainment. There’s a beer garden for adults and a market with a variety of market vendors as well.
Food trucks at the event include favourites like the Corndog King, Cravings Kettle Corn, Guerilla Q, Reel Mac & Cheese, Street Dogs, Tin Lizzy and others. Around 18 artisan vendors are on-site on each of the two days. Some of them are the same on both days, but some of them are there for just one. Handmade products for sale likely include soaps, leather accessories, jams, baked goods, aromatherapy products and other interesting and unique things.
